JAMES MADISON QUOTE - 1822

"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives."

Bellefonte Nuclear Opponents Speak Out At Hearing

http://www.bredl.org/pdf2/BEST-PressRelease-NRCScoping040308.pdf

DID YOU KNOW?
The cost of Bellefonte units 3 and 4 built today would cost at least$20 billion nearly doubling TVA’s debt of $25 billion. The two reactors will draw 71 million gallons of water per day from the Guntersville Reservoir. That is more than all the public water systems in the Guntersville watershed combined. Bellefonte plant is near the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone, considered
one of the most active seismic areas east of the Rocky Mountains. A Texas study found increased cancer rates in north central Texas since the Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant went online in 1992. There are 4 units now within 50 miles of Huntsville and 2 within 50 miles of
Chattanooga.

Why don't you just post your '50's waste dump sci-fi picture again...that was a big hit...he, he The problem with solar is that we don't live in the desert like the picture of the solar station that you posted. What do we do on those long, cold, cloudy winter days that we get here in Bama? You do realize that solar power is pretty useless at night, don't you? We need a mix of solar, nuclear, geothermal, coal, etc. to satisfy the needs of this growing population. To exclude any of these options is irresponsible and lacks vision for the future.

I would not want to be living next to a coal fired plant nor a nuclear plant. You left out hydrogen and bio-mass fueled power, which would fit in nicely for those days when the sun wasn't shinning.

I sent an opposing view to your comment (asked how close is "next to") a few days ago, but it must have shot too many holes in your logic as you didn't post it. If you're not going to post opposing views this site is useless...

I have no idea what you are talking about. I have posted all comments. You seem to be having a problem with carrying forth any type of meaningful argument, position or discussion. Now you regress to false accusations.

Garry, I apologize for accusing you of not posting my comment. I'm pretty sure that somewhere between previewing my comment and publishing it, there must have been a glitch of some kind. You're an honorable guy (even though I disagree with your stance on nuclear power), and I'm sorry for jumping on you before I verified whether you recieved my comment or not.
