JAMES MADISON QUOTE - 1822

"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives."

Our Great Nation

One of the reasons we are a great nation are the freedoms which we enjoy. The freedom of responsible speech and comments in media. Another, is due to the freedoms we enjoy as a result of the work of our scientists, technicians professional and lay people alike working hard at overcoming the problems of our nation and world. The freedoms spelled out in our Constitution and guarded by our many military service members, civilian government service workers in national, state and local political sub-divisions.

We are at a crisis juncture in our nations history. We have some very difficult decisions to make now and in the near future. One of those decisions is the direction we will take as a nation in "Wining our Energy Independence."

The decisions will not be easy ones, they will be difficult and there will be those that will say we must continue to strip our environment of its resources and continue the pollution trends by utilizing current and old technology, such as nuclear and fossil fuels.

We can not depend on fuel assets of other nations. This has brought us into a crisis of war and continued instability in the world and within our nation. We must take the lead in development of Sustainable Energy Resources such as solar and hydrogen power. New technologies need to be improved on and implemented.

We have a tremendous National Debt. Federal funding is getting scarcer and scarcer in resolving our energy problems. We must immediately begin solving any and all problems related to solar and hydrogen energy production. Nuclear and fossil fuel resources must serve our immediate needs until the implementation of a hydrogen/solar economy. The great minds involved in solving the problems of nuclear physics and tapping secondary oil reserves must be put to use in solving the remaining difficulties of a hydrogen/solar economy and Sustainable Energy solutions. Our very lives depend on it and our continued national sovereignty depends on moving from a fossil fuel based economy to a hydrogen/solar economy. The new technologies are present and available. It is a matter of national resolve to implement Sustainable Energy and of course money.

Citizens it will be your choice and the choice of our great national corporations. Do we move forward into the future with Sustainable Energy Solutions or do we move backwards and continue along our current trend of wars, fuels crisis and pollution? Part of the great national debate and decision making will be made in Scottsboro, Alabama.

Members of the "arklite group" ask each of you to weigh the alternatives, study, think and Pray to God that we will make the right decisions for our future

National Security Warning or How Local Politicians Must Not Placate the TVA

Global Warming declared of peek importance concerning our National Security. This announced on tonights NBC News. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25372743/ However it seems this news is actually 4 years old: http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0225-13.htm (I wonder if Arianna will say, "I toldz vou so, Herr Boosh.") More from Common Dreams on this subject: http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0222-01.htm also http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0219-02.htm

Folks we need Alternative Energy and Energy Efficiency measures now. Fossil fuels and existing nuclear power (No new nuke plants. The mining of uranium and the processing contributes to global warming. There is also the radiation contamination risk.) is only a stop gap for a hydrogen/solar economy. We must immediately take action. The TVA must set a leadership role for Alternative Energy, not nuclear.
TVA, Improve the Dam Fleet Now! That includes the power generation systems. Some parts of the power generation system are over 75 years old. (They don't make e'm like that anymore.)
The TVA must utilize wind and solar energy solutions. Citizens, have been "all out" lied to concerning the viability of solar-voltaics and wind power applicability in this area. The TVA identifies peak wind production areas on the Cumberland Plateau. You do not have to have full sunshine to produce power. New technologies have surfaced and are ready for application. The more solar voltaic plastic sheeting produced the less expense involved. These new industries will grow in vast numbers.

Jackson County needs to concentrate in bringing these industries into this area. Hope you get this message Ron Bailey and Dus Rogers, members of the Chamber of Commerce and the citizens EDA, bring alternative energy producers into our vacant industrial parks. Work with the TVA to invest into Alternative Energy. Do it now before someone else makes the move and beats you to the draw.(This was a message that was attempted to be delivered in the BEST/BREDL meeting a couple of months ago at the Rec-Com where no local politicians showed up.) Besides, it will benefit all of us that you not sit on your collective posteriors and do the job you were hired to perform instead of placating the TVA concerning Nuclear Energy!

Cancer Risks and Factors for Jackson County, Alabama or "Assuming the Risks for Bellefonte."

Cancer Photos: Cancer of the Face; Cancer of the Rectum. Gross realities of poisons mutating cells within our body. Fair use for non-profit news reporting, photo credit Jeffrey Melton, MD

The following is relative to cancer risks and factors for Jackson County, Alabama. Risks for cancer increase as more and more carcinogenic poisons enter our environment, a pair of nuclear reactors at Bellefonte compound the risks for our community.

Updates, July 29,2012: link- http://statecancerprofiles.cancer.gov/map/map.withimage.php?01&001&001&00&0&02&0&1&6&0#map Jackson County ranks 10th in Alabama for overall cancer mortality- The death rate is 220.9 with a 95% confidence interval from 204.7 to 238.0 and 141 average annual deaths. North Alabama, as a region, has a high incidence of cancer.

Jackson County (2008 stats) ranks #1 in Alabama for ovarian cancer and #2 for brain cancer, (2012 update-see above stat map, this statistic has changed, although when this article was prepared it was reflected as high. Currently, July 2012, Marshall County leads the state in incidences of brain cancer; ovarian cancer rate is also reflected as a change with Marshall County depicted as 4th in state) http://statecancerprofiles.cancer.gov/incidencerates/index.php?stateFIPS=01&cancer=061&race=00&age=001&type=incd&sortVariableName=rate&sortOrder=default Jackson County ranks high in other cancers.

Compounding risks and factors. In the Cumberland Plateau and surrounding geological area we have a Radon health risk. Radon is a proven carcinogen. We have other environmental pollution problems. Radionuclide's have been present in our drinking and surface water, these reports may be found here, local reports:(Oct 19, 2011, unfortunately the EPA site is broken, the old links are not working. I have requested an active link to the Jackson County, Alabama water quality reports.) However, here is one link that seems to be working: http://water.epa.gov/lawsregs/rulesregs/sdwa/currentregulations.cfm These are the substances reflected in the reports found in Scottsboro's water supply in the past 10 years: Tritium, iodine 131, Strontium 90, Titanium dioxide208. Those substances were also found in Scottsboro's surface water supply, Tennessee River at Scottsboro along with Lead212. (Info on Tritium: http://www.nirs.org/factsheets/tritiumnaturalbackground.pdf Tritium levels frequently exceeded 200 pCi/L in Scottsboro as listed in the NAREL Report linked. Remember, a permissible level does not mean a safe level, ionizing radiation is cumulative. (As the body continues to receive radiation your risk increases for cellular mutations, cancer.)

Stevenson's water supply has been contaminated with known carcinogens, http://oaspub.epa.gov/enviro/sdw_report_v2.first_table?pws_id=AL0000732&state=AL&source=Groundwater&population=4110&sys_num=0 Risk continues to compound.

This German Report reflects problems for children who live near nuclear reactors. http://politicsnpoetry.wordpress.com/2008/01/25/child-cancer-risk-higher-near-nuclear-plants-study/ The translated study: http://www.bfs.de/en/kerntechnik/kinderkrebs/kikk.html

Adding the additional risk of a nuclear power plant compounds the risk of cellular mutations resulting in cancers, radioactive releases do occur. Citizens must realize there are no safe levels of ionizing radiation, permissible levels are not safe levels. Ionizing radiation is cumulative in the body as well as in nature. The more poison you add to your body the higher risk you assume for cancer, radiation is just one poison. Radiation Facts:http://www.nirs.org/radiation/radiationhome.htm Other fact sheets: http://www.nirs.org/factsheets/fctsht.htm
Important, once radiation is introduced into the food chain, radiation is compounded, dosage is increased as the radiation progresses up the food chain. Once the other poisons enter into the equation, before you know it you lead the state in cancers. Do citizens want the additional risk of cancer from a nuclear power plant? Please note the location of Scottsboro's east side water intake from the Bellefonte proposed twin reactors. (Top of page: Art of Bellefonte Units 3&4, map of Scottsboro water  by TVA, fair use rights for non-profit news reporting. The Corporate Government

Dr. Ross McCluney expounds on the role of the corporation and how it has been bestowed with non-existant rights. "Corporations are chartered by government and exist at the pleasure of government. Large corporations today, however, have begun to operate largely as if they were independent entities. This has led to a variety of environmental and other excesses. Government has generally been unwilling or unable to step in and exert the proper regulatory role over corporations in many such matters, in spite of powers to exert such control provided to a variety of governmental regulatory bodies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Commission, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission."

"Over a period of time, corporations have even started claiming rights under the U.S. Constitution, thereby asserting that they can be treated legally as if they were people. This doctrine of “corporate person-hood” was introduced not in the Constitution or any of its amendments but by a series of assertions by attorneys, the corporations themselves. Many courts have gone along, so that the “doctrine” has seemed to take on a valid legal status. However, corporations are not people and cannot claim constitutional rights reserved for human individuals." Excerpt, Chpt 7, Getting Down to Business, "Humanity’s Environmental Future," Dr. Ross McCluney, 2004.

More on this subject from the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund: http://www.celdf.org/ Unfortunately, in many places, to include Alabama, the corporation has been given rights to include the "right" to receive large amounts of tax money through corporate subsidies. The people of this area seem very willing to give up their individual rights and replace them with Corporate Rule.

TVA and the Big Recreation Land Swindle?

http://www.tva.gov/rrsc/readingroom3/pubcomments_8-06.pdf Interesting reading, the TVA is to be commended in receiving input from the public. The public is sending the TVA a serious message in this comment session. Page 13 by the Raven Society is most interesting along with others of the same nature. The message is clear, stop selling recreational property for the public at large to the special interest corporate developers who develop the recreation properties for wealthy private individual home builders. Interesting article in the Decatur Times Daily about this issue and economic development: http://www.timesdaily.com/article/20080519/NEWS/805190321/1011 This article contains statements from the departing Congressman Bud Cramer on the issue.

The public's recreational properties around the TVA Valley area are being sold to corporate land developers against the intended use of the property. Locally we have witnessed this at several places around Guntersville Lake. "Coon Gulf", "Preston Island," "Goosepond Island" and others are part of the many big land swindles of public property. What has happened to the Moratorium on Commercial Development of TVA property in the region? TVA Land Policy: http://www.tva.com/river/landandshore/land_policy.htm

Goosepond Colony/TVA Conflict of Interests on 2 Fronts

On June 10 our Scottsboro newspaper, The Daily Sentinel, had the following article on its front page about the current manager of Goosepond and the former TVA Guntersville Reservoir Property Manager and a planned marina in Marshall County: http://thedailysentinel.com/story.lasso?ewcd=8120c4151bb62a99

A close friend had attempted to discuss this issue on Scottsboro's al.com local discussion board. There were several others that were discussing the issue, some were removed some remain. This is not the first time discussion of malfeasance and mismanagement has been removed from al.com's Scottsboro Discussion Board due to government's officials requests.

The following link lists prohibitions of ex-Federal Employees "switching sides." http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/cfr_2007/janqtr/5cfr2637.201.htm The prohibition in a short paragraph: Basic prohibition of 18 U.S.C. 207 "(a). No former Government employee, after terminating Government employment, shall knowingly act as agent or attorney for, or otherwise represent any other person in any formal or informal appearance before, or with the intent to influence, make any oral or written communication on behalf of any other person (1) to the United States, (2) in connection with any particular Government matter involving a specific party, (3) in which matter such employee participated personally and substantially as a Government employee."

The Manager of Goosepond Colony, Mr. Sosebee has no business being involved with another marina in this area. This link from the Huntsville Times indicates he owns Great Southern Marine. http://www.al.com/news/huntsvilletimes/index.ssf?/base/news/120419378415250.xml&coll=1 That is a substantial conflict of interest but yet the Goosepond Colony Board hired him. Mr. Wolfe has no business being involved in representing a private business on Guntersville Lake concerning land acquisitions and dealings of which he was involved as the land manager of the TVA's Guntersville Lake. These are conflicts of interest.
The continued management problems of Goosepond Colony is a thorn in the City of Scottsboro's side. It seems the organization can not be managed and operated by this city without corruption and blatant violations of sensible management and legal requirements. Maybe it is time to sell Goosepond Colony to private enterprise and rid Scottsboro of its inability to manage this organization in a legal, profitable and sensible fashion.

Fascist Political Control Freaks in Scottsboro/Jackson County

A friend of mine made several posts on the al.com Scottsboro forum. A couple of posters came along and identified the posts as originating from me, they did not but they were removed. (Personally, I would not post or subscribe to any product that Advance Publications owns. Unfortunately, since The Huntsville Times is part of that organization it is necessary to list news references from them.) They concerned Mr. David Freeman's press conference in Chattanooga concerning TVA mismanagement and the dangers of nuclear power. He had also made posts concerning voter fraud in Jackson County. There were posts concerning conflicts of interests at Goosepond Colony and possible violations of Federal Law, all removed, censored. There is a concerted effort to remove political posts and the reporting of government malfeasance in Scottsboro/Jackson County. Evidence of more political censorship by politicians acting in concert with Advance Publications in Jackson County Alabama, sad, sad, sad.

The tyrants are secretive, low lifes of the worse kind, lower than the lowest depths of the oceans. They abhor liberty and freedom of responsible speech, they are attempting to cover up the wrongful actions of governments officials in this area. They are responsible for the censorship of discussion of those matters on media discussion boards. The censors are cowards, they neither have the courage nor values set into law by our country's Constitution to confront these issues of criminal conduct.

In the case of Goosepond Colony there is evidence due to the statements of past management officials that government officials did in fact contact al.com/ Advance Internet and demanded that posts be removed from the Scottsboro discussion board discussing malfeasance on the part of Goosepond Colony Management Officials. This is a violation of the Civil Rights of those that have made postings where governments officials have caused them to be removed, Governmental Censorship.

S. David Freeman News Conference in Chattanooga

The Bottom Line, bring in the worlds nuclear reactor waste to the southeast and continue on with a nuclear TVA will result in a death blow to the TVA. Citizens are not going to tolerate our land as a burying place and reprocessing center for the worlds nuclear reactor waste, nor the painting of a terrorist target on the southeast.

Mr. Simmons stated the Tire Bid Committee will contact local tire dealers and meet with them concerning this issue. 5) Council on Aging, approved funding amount of $50,741.00 6) Gas & diesel fuel bid openings, M.F. Gardner was approved at 6.5cents per gallon over distributor costs as low bidder. 7) Petroleum Products bid opening, Jackson Co. Oil Co. was approved as lowest bidder. 8) Pool Chemicals for Rec Com bid opening, no company bid. Rec Com Director authorized to negotiate purchases.

Reports: Mayor is recovering from last weeks surgery. Mr. Smith stated Scottsboro's Recycling Program is off to a good start and they are looking for buyers of the gathered recyclable waste products.

Jackson County Commission Meeting

The following persons met with the Commission: 1) John Barnett discussed and requested permission to hold the Crow Mountain Hill Climb, approved by the commission. 2) Keith Britt of the Sand Mountain Park Board, discussions concerning improvements to park. 3) Jim Frost, of the local US Department of Agriculture met with the commission to discuss funds for placing a bridge over Estill Fork of the Paint Rock River. Currently there is a "water crossing" at the location which interferes with endangered species in the creek. Considerable discussion ensued concerning grants available.

There were 5 items on the consent agenda totaling $2774.03. However there were 2 travel expense trips for employees, one was a property appraisal course in Bessemer, Al. and the other was approval for the Alabama County Commission Association Convention in Orange Beach for the County's Commissioners, Engineer, Administrator and EMA Director. These trips will occur in July and August. There were Solid Waste debt write off amounts that were not stated.

Old Business: 1) Minutes approved, Mr. Blizzard abstained, as always, from voting on the minutes of the previous meeting. 2) Solid Waste and Extension Office Building roof replacement discussion. Apparently the bid estimate received did not reflect a roof lining. There was also some confusion of whether the "estimates/bids submitted were a bid or were an estimate. 3) Sheriff Dennis Miller requested additional funds for fuel costs in the amount of $65,000, $60,000 was approved. Fuel cost increases were also discussed for the Solid Waste Department. Mr. Tidmore, Commission Chairman pointed out that the Solid Waste Department is a self supporting organization as required by State law. Any fuel increase costs must be passed on to customers through billing.

New Business: Approval for ditch improvements in Langston along Lakeshore Dr. 2) Approval given to pay for purchases from Wal-Mart of $1,839.56. These expenses were incurred during the Tornado earlier this year in Pisgah and Rosalie communities. 3) Request to increase pay to members of the Northeast Alabama Water, Sewer and Fire Protection District from $100 per month to $150 per month. This was tabled until more information could be obtained. 4) Request for $1500 to Tech School for 11 students to attend Skills Championship in Kansas City. Request approved and the students were appointed as Ambassadors to represent Jackson County. 5)The following Board Appointments and resignations were approved: a) Doug Sisk appointed to 911 Board to replace Tom Warren who moved out of the county; reappointment of Stacy Ledwell to the Jackson County Economic Development Board; motion to accept Dennis Millers resignation from the 911 Board and appoint Jim Miller, Retired Scottsboro P.D. Assistant Police Chief, to the Board. 6) Jackson County Rescue Squad Rodeo program advertisement approved. Paid for from personal funds of commissioners. 7) Payment of Attorneys fees approved. 8) Executive Session approved, involving window installation contract, Kristine Harding of J.H. Partners Architects to meet with Board concerning pending legal action. Commission Chairman stated no vote would occur after session.

The Truth About Our Dollar and Oil

The Dollar and oil facts. Doom and gloom for political reasons? MoneyNews - America's Money News Page
"...this oil move is a carefully orchestrated event. Huge money pools are financing the buying of the futures contracts to run up the prices. Giant power centers are making sure that no one gets “out of line” in this incredible fleecing of the non-petroleum countries.
The folks behind this push are the same ones that brought us the 1973-74 gas lines and changed the world’s financial power centers forever. Only this time the reason for the move by these folks is quite different."

The "Quaint Essential" Move to End the TVA

Why the Tennessee Valley Authority Must Be Reformed or "Why Yankees hate our power."

Update: Mar 29, 2011. Unfortunately the active link to this information has been removed from the web. However, here is a synopsis. Below you will find a Christian Science Monitor article concerning the bloated debt of the TVA due to mismanagement and unnecessary investments into nuclear energy.

"Tennessee Report--Still Draining the Nation" http://www.tnreport.com/2009/09/still-draining-the-nation/

"PRESS CONFERENCE: RESTRUCTURE TVA"

----------------------------------

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ), Senator Jack Reed (R-RI), Rep.

Bob Franks (R-NJ) and the Northeast-Midwest Institute on Tuesday,

September 15, will hold a press conference to discuss pending

appropriation and policy issues facing the Tennessee Valley Authority

and to release RESTRUCTURE TVA: WHY THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY

MUST BE REFORMED. The session was postponed from last week.

The Institute's 54-page monograph explains that the nation's

largest electric utility suffers an enormous $29-billion debt,

mismanagement, and falling political support at the very time that

lawmakers are restructuring the nation's electric utility industry and

transforming the way consumers buy electricity. It also describes

TVA's taxpayer subsidies and exemptions from federal and state laws

and regulations, its role as one of the nation's largest air

polluters, its six-figure bonuses and secret retirement funds for top

executives, and its non-competitive consulting contracts to cronies of

those officials. The report calls for restructuring this outmoded

government agency.

More information: http://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/Opinion/2009/0225/p09s01-coop.html

This should be a plain message for the TVA Board and it's executives, do not squander our resources. This should also serve as a warning for citizens of the valley, particularly politicians who have "nuclear tunnel vision." There is a move to end the TVA. Ending the TVA would have a serious negative economical impact on the Tennessee Valley Region of the Southeast. Debt due to expensive nuclear power plants is a sure fire way to end the TVA.

Is that the buzzards of Nu-Start circling. I bet they would love to pick up the pieces of a bankrupted TVA for pennies on the dollar?!

The move in 2010 has been renewed due to deceitful mismangement of the TVA.

Counter Culture/ Plot for World Domination (a review)

An Interesting "film" or "documentary" on World Domination, One World Government, which seemed to be the twisted plot. An alleged plot by corporate bankers, elitist politicians and religious leaders to dominate the world and its citizenry by corporate fascism via the Federal Reserve/ World Banks, various political and religious institutions. There are 4 distinct portions of the film, Religion, Politics, Economic System and Plot for World Domination, One World Government. (The plot would have had to originate 2000 years ago and evolved to this date as the story maintains.)

Lacks of action and attempts to appeal to intellect. Some folks will have a problem with the religious dogma portion and the begining was relatively a boring opening. Other than that, I spent 2 hours, 2 minutes and 15 seconds watching this link. It was quite thought provoking and makes one wonder about the "maskarovka" (The old Soviet political and military tactic of deception.).Which side is practicing the deception?

Here's the Link: http://zeitgeistmovie.com/main.htm It is worth the time as it leads one to think there is a plot to control us all for the benefit of the few, the only question that remains, who is the Imperious Leader and just how accurate is the information presented?

Why Barrack Obama May be Your Next President.

Most U.S. citizens are sick and tired of the same old crap from the same old politicians. Unfortunately, Mr. Obama is another same old politician with different window dressing which appeals to young voters and those who believe they are disenfranchised. The embracing of deciet on the part of citizens from our elected officials is disturbing. But, even more disturbing are the lies that are told daily from politicians and the media. Our country is headed toward a destructive course of political and financial ruin which we may not recover. If we do recover the protections of Constitutional Law may be abandoned. In fact many of those protections are already in the process of abandonment as depicted in these videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wJsovPRTEM&NR=1 (part2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5NJoZRYOJk&feature=related
