JAMES MADISON QUOTE - 1822

"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives."

PRIDE--Professional Results In Daily Efforts--The Scottsboro Justice Center Complex

Police Chief Ralph Dawe makes difficult decisions in his daily duties as our Police Chief. Chief Dawe worked many hours to insure our new Justice Center reflects the professionalism that is the watchword of our Police Department.
A renovated City Court Room is bright and spacious even with most of the lights out, impressive.

The City Jail has been renovated with modern cells and security in order that all activities of inmates may be viewed. This assures the safety and security of inmates and officers. Separate facilities for female and male prisoners are present. A secure visitor and prisoner communications area was built. The new City Jail facility is impressive and it is obvious much professional planning went into the design.

The reception area of the new Justice Complex is large, bright and impressive. Security for all is of the utmost importance in this new facility.

Our new Scottsboro Police Department will serve the citizens of Scottsboro for many years into the 21st Century and beyond.
Many thanks to Chief Dawe for giving me the tour. I was unable to make the open house as I was out of town.

PRIDE is reflected in our new Scottsboro Police Department and Justice Center. A building is just a building regardless of how wonderful and great the appearance. Scottsboro's new Police Station and Justice Center Complex is fitting for our professional, dedicated Peace Officers and City Court officials. This Justice Center serves as a symbol of warning to criminals and is a source of PRIDE for the citizens of our community. May God Bless all of our Peace Officers who place their lives on the line daily so that all citizens may enjoy the benefits of our Republic. (photos by Garry Morgan)

lets just hope they can concentrate on weeding out more of the meth addicts in that area and not let it get more overrun than it is already. we go out to eat in that area pretty often and its so sad to see how many lives are in such bad shape because of meth and all the other drugs on jackson county as well as marshall county.. its getting scary here in huntsville seeing how its making its way more and more into the city here, when it used to be just a rural thing. very scary, and its a burden on the health care system because they're having so many people coming on drug related illnesses and they're not able to properly take care of the citizens who have heart problems and such. i've been to jackson county hospital for kidney stones before and they don't even have a cat scan machine, all they can do is xrays and give medicine and will transport to huntsville or chattanooga for the serious stuff. i think if they didn't have such a drug problem that they could put more effort and more funding towards a more sophisticated hospital that can do more than just medicate a person and send them by ambulance or helicopter to surrounding cities.

Meth is a killer. It is unfortunate that people destroy their lives with this drug. The control on precursor drugs have helped. The local Police and Sheriff still uncover meth labs frequently. Now the problem with meth is the traffic incoming from Mexico. The U.S. Government's lack of control concerning illegal aliens and border control is the culprit for this security threat.

Unfortunately the Jackson County Hospital is a public hospital. The local socialists refuse to sell to a private health care provider. Personally I hope I never have to spend any time in this facility. I have filed several complaints due to failures in standards of care due to personally witnessed short comings in treatment rendered to my loved ones. In each case administrators, such as the Chief Nurse, lied concerning sub-standard care incidents. The emphasis was not to improve patient care but to protect the hospitals image. Several CEO's of the Health Care Authority have came and gone, in most cases due to inappropriate conduct.

A noted Rn in Jackosn County Emergency room was in such a hurry to leave that she put an IV in my hand and burned the nerves, For seven years I have had to wear a brace and will for my lifetime. All this because her house was''closing'' and she was in a hurry.
