JAMES MADISON QUOTE - 1822

"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives."

Jackson County Administrator, Ms. Sandra Erickson (photo by G. Morgan)

Jackson County Commission Administrator Sandra Erickson's status with the county commission is unknown to the public at this time. Ms. Erickson was asked to depart on Administrative Leave on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Ms. Erickson has remarked to several sources and this writer that she has no idea as to why she was asked to leave.

As of Tuesday's commission meeting Ms. Erickson indicated she still did not know what the reason for her being asked to depart last Wednesday. However, she was informed by the County Attorney after Tuesday's meeting that she would be receiving a formal notice within 2-3 days. In this mornings local newspaper, The Daily Sentinel, it was reported that Ms. Erickson has been notified as to the details of the reasons she was asked to leave last Wednesday.
