Scottsboro City Council, Mar. 18, 2013 - First Monday Change

 
Monday was a work session of the Scottsboro City Council.
 
The Jackson County Revenue Commission overpaid the City of Scottsboro over $188,000 for the  2010-2011 tax year in Property Taxes according to Jackson County Revenue Commissioner Ronnie Crawford. This error was noted during a state audit of the Revenue Commission. Crawford stated the computing error was corrected prior to the 2012 tax payment disbursal. The error affected all municipalities in Jackson County.
 
The school system, city bond fund and the city general fund will each be responsible for repayment of approximately $63,000 each. The city council is expected to vote on the repayment during next Monday's regular meeting.
 
First Monday Weekend Tradeday Event will be first come first serve begining with the March 30 thru April 1st Event. The Scottsboro Cruise-In will begin on Saturday March 30. Historical full time vendors will have red marked space numbers and were grandfathered in for an assigned space.
