City Council Meeting/Missing Tools & Equipment from Street Department?

Tonight's meeting was a work session. Mr. Hodges and Mr. Thomas were absent due to work commitments.

4 items were on the agenda, a couple of more were added. 1) Litter Ordinance discussion centered on raising fines from $250 maximum to a $500 maximum fine for littering. 2) Review Ala Tax request concerning collection of Business License revenue, utilizing contractor not recommended at this time. 3) Discussion concerning online bidding of contracts. Council President Keith Smith recommended not to utilize online bidding. 4) Budget amendment Discussion for Street Department concerning the need of tools and equipment. Apparently the Street Department is missing tools and equipment. Keith Smith, Council President stated, "...purchase receipts will be located. If there are equipment or tools missing there will be an investigation initiated." 5)Surplus Property discussion. 6) Budget amendment discussion for Civic Center alcohol purchase. 7) Discussion concerning Recreation Advisory Board.
