UPDATE Jan 5, 2012:  COMMISSION CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES $1.5 MILLION DEFICIT
Jackson County Commission Chairman Matthew Hodges held a press conference Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at the Jackson County Court House. Scottsboro's Daily Sentinel quotes Hodges as saying: "The budget has ran in the red for the past 3 years..." The Daily Sentinel report goes on to say Mr. Hodges told the "local media" at the press conference, "the county is facing a $1.5 million deficit in its current budget."  http://thedailysentinel.com/news/article_986c8a00-58d9-11e2-834e-0019bb2963f4.html
