The Jan 28 commission meeting was continued until 4 Feb., 2013 for the purpose of approving a Special Call Meeting at North Sand Mountain High School on Feb. 12, 2013. Commission Chairman Matthew Hodges stated the commission will be holding information sessions at various locations within the county.

UPDATE Jan 5, 2012:  COMMISSION CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES $1.5 MILLION DEFICIT
Jackson County Commission Chairman Matthew Hodges held a press conference Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at the Jackson County Court House. Scottsboro's Daily Sentinel quotes Hodges as saying: "The budget has ran in the red for the past 3 years..." Scottsboro City Council Meeting - Swearing in of Mr. Gary Stewart as Council Member

Monday December 17, 2012 was the last scheduled council meeting for 2012. Mr. Gary Stewart was sworn in to fill the vacant seat of Mr. Matthew Hodges. Mr. Hodges was elected as the Jackson County Commission Chairperson.
