History breaking event, Republican elected to the District 8 Senate Seat, a very inexperienced Republican. The Jackson County Citizens will now live with their choice in this election.. This is the first Republican Senator since Reconstruction.

In the western part of the county, Wayne Johnson, Republican defeats Buth Taylor Democrat.

Now we shall see if the Republicans were all hot air concerning reforms such as Ethics and PAC to PAC transfers. What will the new Republicans do with Jackson County's TVA in lieu of tax money?

Election to Watch, Senate District 8

The Barron(D)--McGill(R) election for District 8 Alabama Senate will be the election to watch come November. Will the Tea Party organization and Jackson County Patriots, both Republican organized, make a difference in the upcoming November election?

Jackson County has been a traditional ultraconservative Democrat bastion. The political attacks pointed at President Obama via Fox News and other Republican Party mouthpieces are effective. The Democrats have done a terrible job countering the attacks of the Tea Party/ Republican Party propaganda mouthpieces. The Democrat counter arguments have been fractionalized and noneffective. The Democrats lack luster counter arguments concerning protecting the conservative wing, Blue Dogs, (Senator Barron) will be costly this November. I think the District 8 election will be separated by less than 500 votes.

What is interesting to note is the necessary numbers to win an election. The magic figure is 17,400, less than 2500 votes separated Barron and Stout in the last election. With less than 60 days out from the election I've seen Shad McGill ads on TV, his wife and children made a showing at the Labor Day First Monday event, not much visibility from Senator Barron at this point.

Lowell Barron political sign was attached over this pay day loan advertisement. Mr. Barron has publicly stated he sold his pay day loan businesses, apparently that is not the case.

Pay day loan barons and Democrats in Jackson County have one thing in common, state Senator Lowell Barron.

Charlie Rhodes, Jackson County District Attorney will go after the poor who borrow money, write a post-dated check to pay, check does not clear, arrest. Pay day loan borrowers can not be arrested for not paying the loan but they may be arrested for writing a bad check.

Mr Barron's role: Mr. Barron apparently owns pay day loan offices, although he claims he sold them, no evidence exists of the sale; passes legislation that favors pay day loan businesses; controls the local Economic Development Authority which has not been successful in acquiring local jobs. More evidence of broken government in the State of Alabama as a result of unscrupulous political influences. In Jackson county Alabama it is the Democrat Party and its Democrat leadership under the helm of Senator Lowell Barron which is the unscrupulous influence.

Education Fund Diversions, Jackson County Alabama

2 years ago I was presented with a group of documents, they demonstrated the possibility that a crime had been commited against the citizens of Jackson County Alabama. This crime involved the diversion of Educational Funds from the coffers of Jackson County Board of Education to the Town of Henagar, Alabama, Henagar is located in Dekalb County. Upon contacting city officials in Henager, Alabama I discovered Henagar did not have a School System. I was also informed by Henagar officials, "this is the way business is accomplished."

Since the documents had the names of Lowell Barron on them I attempted to inquire about these documents to Mr. Barron, first by letter, which was never answered, then by personal interview which was denied. I also contacted the current Board of Education Superintendent, Mr. Jeffrey, his reply to me was that he could not answer any questions about these transactions but he did state to me, "fund transfers of this nature will never occur on my watch."

These documents were turned over to local media, however they were never published and it appears there was no media inquiry published concerning the fund diversion.

Recently the documents were forwarded to the Attorney General of Alabama, Mr. Troy King, requesting an investigation. Also included were documents related to other fund diversions by the Legislative Delegation of Jackson County.

The documents reflect a total of $300, 000 of Education Funds diverted from Jackson County to a non existant school system in the town of Henagar, Alabama, in adjacent Dekalb County. These fund transfers occured between December 1999 and January of 2000. There is a large question remaining. What was the total amount taken, these fund transfers reflect $300K for a 2 month period.? Was there more and why has this not been explained or investigated as there are several others that were aware of this transaction prior to me receiving the documents? Maybe the Attorney General can offer some explanations.
