Why is there no comprehensive area testing of at least 10% of the population? Answer - Incompetence on the national and state levels. No testing = not knowing the numbers infected by the SARS-CoV-2 disease. Think about the "law of unintended consequences" on a pandemic level. Cost according to City Council Member estimates - $4.5 million dollars. It has also been stated that within the next 2 years the landfill will need to be expanded, cost - another $2 million. 

NOTICE OF SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING

OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF SCOTTSBORO, ALABAMA

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Scottsboro, Alabama, will hold a special meeting on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. at the City Hall located at 316 Broad Street, Scottsboro, Alabama 35768, for the purpose of, among other things, considering the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of the City's General Obligation Warrants, Series 2016, which are to be issued for the purpose of providing for various public capital improvements in the City, including, without limitation, fire department, public recreation and cultural facilities improvements, and paying the costs of issuance of said Series 2016 Warrants. Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.

Jackson County Commission Special Called Meeting, Proposed 2010-2011 Budget

The Jackson County Commission held a Special Called meeting at 4PM today in the Commission Board Room. The purpose of the meeting was to approve the proposed 2010-2011 Budget, the budget was approved.

The Jackson County Commission's total General Fund Budget Revenue is listed at $6,169,197.73, Expenditures are listed at $7,609,455.61, this reflects a $1,440,257.88 deficit.

Total proposed Expenditures for the 2010-2011 Budget are $17,021,893--Total proposed Revenue $15,259,540 (Figures rounded down, cent amounts dropped.) Deficit of $1,762,353.
