We've Opened the Gates of Hell - from Environmental News Sources

The lie - the cover-up by the multinational nuclear industry and puppet regulators. They said a nuclear detonation could never occur in a nuclear reactor, it did at Fukushima Daiichi Reactor #3

We are witnessing Cesium 137 (Cs137) and Antimony 125 (Sb125) in rainwater at Scottsboro, Al., along with other reactor fission products and Radon progenies.

The nuclear industry and regulators worldwide, including the U.S., are lying to citizens.

NRC Performance Assessment of TVA's Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant on May 21, 2014 - Public Comments and Questions

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held the 2013 Safety Performance and  Regulatory Performance Public Meeting regarding TVA's  Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Calhoun Community College near Decatur, Alabama, approximately 10 miles from the Browns Ferry nuclear plant. There are 3 defective GE Mark 1 nuclear reactors operating at Browns Ferry. The same model of reactor which exploded and melted down at Fukushima Daiichi Japan.

VALVE ISSUES DANCE - My question - "Have the valve problems been fixed as identified in the 2010 INPO Browns Ferry Report and the 95003 Red finding?" NRC- "...that is impossible to answer...we can't tell you if the valve problems in the INPO report have been fixed...we are required to review the report...we will get back to you...no safety issues were brought to the NRC by INPO...we had already reviewed the issues..."

The NRC could not say that the multi unit valve failure safety issues and problems identified in the INPO report have been resolved. Although it is required that when INPO identifies safety issues they are required to notify the NRC, the NRC officials present stated they have not seen the INPO 2010 Browns Ferry Report. Browns Ferry Performance Assessment report by Al.Com's Brian Lawson
"Members of the public who attended the meeting urged the NRC to remain vigilant in scrutinizing TVA operations. Those who spoke questioned Browns Ferry's wind rating and vulnerability to tornado conditions, whether the identification of individual problems at the plant are seen by regulators as unique events or signs of increased overall risk, how TVA's aging analog components are compatible with new digital systems and why the plant continues to suffer from power source problems...One of the last people to speak told McCree that Browns Ferry employees should be given a realistic description of what happened to the Fukushima plant in Japan in 2011 and the effect the disaster had on the people and economy of the region. Much of the plant melted down after an earthquake and tsunami."

"McCree said he spoke to Polson before the meeting and Polson agreed to show Browns Ferry workers a recently produced NRC film about a visit to Fukushima."

NRC VIDEO

"It can happen" - Nuclear Melt Downs! Not one person from the NRC in the video could say what actually happened - 3 nuclear reactors melted down. "Don't allow this to happen...this happened...something happened...unanticipated events, the accident" say the regulatory officials. Don't allow what to happen, what accident? Is the NRC afraid to say 3 nuclear melt downs occurred in 3 GE Mark 1 Nuclear Reactors where engineers said this could not happen.  Browns Ferry contains 3 defective GE Mark 1 Reactors; is the NRC as our regulator in denial that a nuclear reactor can meltdown in the United States of America?

Fukushima Chronicles - the danger and the saga continues.

The GE Mark 1, a defective Nuclear Reactor design. 24 defective reactors of this type exist in the United States. 3 are located near Athens, Alabama at TVA's Browns Ferry Nuclear facility. The Browns Ferry Reactors have been problematic for many years, including a recent "Red Finding" by the NRC due to defective valves and poor management by TVA personnel at Browns Ferry.

A "grave situation" continues..."if Unit 4 were to catch fire, you would have to evacuate Tokyo...There is as much cesium in the fuel pool at Unit 4 as there was in all of the atomic bombs dropped in all of the tests in the 1940's, the 1950's, the 1960's, and into the 1970's. All of the above ground testing has less cesium in it than is in the reactor pool at Fukushima 4 right now...Tokyo Electric and the Japanese government are not taking the situation serious..." Discussion on prompt criticality detonation of Fukushima Daiichi Unit 3; the denial and ignoring or the detonation which occured at Unit 3.

Information and links on biomagnification and food contamination as a result of the Fukushima Disaster.
Cesium 137 has a half life of 30.17 years; in the food chain it mimics Potassium. The higher up the food chain the greater the biomagnification as each higher life form ingests the Cesium ingested from the lower life form, particularly in saltwater. It appears the science writer attempts to mislead readers.

Is the information listed in the AP article intentionally false or an uninformed opinion by the science writer? In the case of propaganda, there are usually true statements mixed with fallacy with the express purpose to mislead people exposed to the statement. The writer's statement is submitted as scientific fact, not opinion, the statement in question is an intentional fallacy.

Based on my previous experience with intentional false information by the Department of Defense establishment the statement in question is propaganda. "Don't worry people your tuna is safe," is the message conveyed. However, the facts point toward quite the opposite, your tuna is not safe. Particularly in this case of radioactive element contamination in tuna.

Mercury, like Cesium, is biomagnified. Pacific tuna which has been found to contain Mercury contamination. Mercury in Tuna: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090501195628.htm "...Researchers found that open-ocean fish have a much stronger [mercury] fingerprint than do coastal fish, a discovery that opens the door to new ways of analyzing human exposure to mercury." http://insciences.org/article.php?article_id=8425

We quantified the assimilation efficiency from ingested prey uptake rate from the aqueous phase and efflux rate of radiocesium in a marine piscivorous fish...the biomagnification of Cs137 in Marine predatory fishes is largely caused by the extremely high Cs137 assimilation from ingested prey, despite the high efflux rate of Cs137 compared to those measured in freshwater fishes." http://www.int-res.com/articles/meps/222/m222p227.pdf or http://www.cityu.edu.hk/ap/nru/pub_j44.pdf

"The radionuclides cesium-137 and strontium-90 are both fission products with a
radiological half-life of about 30 years. If released into the environment, they can both
concentrate again at various steps of the food chain. The way they accumulate depends
on their chemical behavior."

"Cesium-137 has chemical properties that are similar to potassium. Because the cells in
plants, animals and in the human body cannot distinguish between cesium-137 and
potassium, cesium-137 can be mistaken by the body to be potassium and absorbed as
such. Because most potassium in the human body is found in the blood, cesium-137 can
be found in all parts of the human body." http://www.nuclearactive.org/docs/BF_FS.pdf

Fukushima Chronicles - 1 Year After

One year after the Fukushima disaster there are distinct, demonstrated shortcomings in the nuclear industry. Nuclear power has great risks which the nuclear industry fails to convey to the public. The nuclear industry and government regulators within the United States express an attitude which is deadly and dangerous. Attitude failures-vanity, invincibility, neglect and a failed value system relating to money before human life and health with no regard and respect for the realities of our natural world is a dangerous combination which resulted in the Japanese Fukushima disaster.

Cancer Risk To Young Children Near Fukushima Daiichi Underestimated from Fairewinds Energy Education on Vimeo.
"Fairewinds analyzes cancer rates for young children near Fukushima using the National Academy of Science's BEIR (Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation) VII Report. Based on BEIR VII, Fairewinds determines that at least one in every 100 young girls will develop cancer for every year they are exposed to 20 millisieverts [millisievert (1 mSv = 0.001 Sv)] of radiation. The 20-millisievert/ year figure is what the Japanese government is currently calculating as the legal limit of radiological exposure to allow habitation of contaminated areas near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. In this video, Fairewinds introduces additional analysis by Ian Goddard showing that the BEIR VII report underestimates the true cancer rates to young children living near Fukushima Daiichi. Looking at the scientific data presented by Mr. Goddard, Fairewinds has determined that at least one out of every 20 young girls (5%) living in an area where the radiological exposure is 20 millisieverts for five years will develop cancer in their lifetime."

"Fukushima Nuclear plant released  far more radiation than reported...Caesium-137 fallout, however, is a much greater concern because it will linger in the environment for decades. The new model shows that Fukushima released 3.5 × 1016  Bq caesium-137, roughly twice the official government figure..."

Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) Blog, Fukushima-One Year After: http://blog.cleanenergy.org/2012/03/08/remembering-fukushima-one-year-later/

Perhaps the greatest error of Fukushima is based on an attitude of invincibility and a non-scientific approach to risk and problem solving as expressed in the Carnigie Report on the Fukushima disaster introduction. The last sentence sums up the dangerous attitude- "... perhaps most importantly, many believed that a severe accident was simply impossible."

The Carnigie Endowment for International Peace Report: "Why Fukushima Was Preventable"-
"Though there is no single reason for TEPCO and NISA’s failure to follow international best practices and standards, a number of potential underlying causes can be identified. NISA lacked independence from both the government agencies responsible for promoting nuclear power and also from industry. In the Japanese nuclear industry, there has been a focus on seismic safety to the exclusion of other possible risks. Bureaucratic and professional stovepiping made nuclear officials unwilling to take advice from experts outside of the field. Those nuclear professionals also may have failed to effectively utilize local knowledge. And, perhaps most importantly, many believed that a severe accident was simply impossible." http://carnegieendowment.org/2012/03/06/why-fukushima-was-preventable/a0i7
From Fairewinds engineer Arnie Gunderson: "This Carnegie Study is similar to the Greenpeace study but Carnegie is more supportive of nuclear and portrays these problems as solvable. Greenpeace said the accidents were due to regulatory capture and the echo chamber effect and suggests international nuclear pressures are systemic."
The Fukushima Report from Greenpeace leads off in one segment with this quote: " For a successful technology, reality must take precedent over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." Quote by Richard Feynman. The Greenpeace study is at http://www.fairewinds.com/content/echo-chamber-regulatory-capture-and-fukushima-daiichi-disaster

"Fairewinds shows that the nuclear industry's plan to vent the containment at Fukushima Daiichi could not have prevented a containment failure and the ensuing explosions. Look at the graphics from the containment stress tests conducted more than 40 years ago at a US nuclear reactor identical to Fukushima Daiichi Unit 1. This video and its graphics provide important clues about why Fukushima Daiichi Unit 1 exploded."

FOIA disclosures reveal deceit on the part of the NRC: "USS Ronald Reagan measured 0.6 mR/hr direct gamma shine from clouds 130 miles from Fukushima Daiichi" -

Indications of intentional cover-up by Nuclear Regulatory Commission - nuclear industry concerns placed before human safety health & welfare.

FOIA disclosure, NRC report from Japan: "There is spent fuel and pellets and whatever all over the place around the plant." http://enenews.com/nrcs-top-man-japan-spent-fuel-pellets-all-place-around-plant-trying-clean-dose-going-be-incredible
Top US nuke official in Japan: "Take it slow “without just running the military in there to kill people” for us to feel better..." http://enenews.com/top-us-nuke-official-in-japan-take-it-slow-without-just-running-the-military-in-there-to-kill-people-wait-so-its-without-a-lot-of-loss-of-life-300-millisieverts-per-hour-outside-react

As we examine the after action reports and news stories it should become obvious where the actual failure lies. Unfortunately, it seems the problem in the United States, as it was in Japan, we do not learn the lessons of history, nor consider that human error and the attitudes and failed values associated with the failures, which lead to the disaster, is occuring in the United States today. The real questions: How much pain, suffering and costs will it take? Will it take making a United States city a ghost town before our political leadership and the nuclear industry's supportive bureaucrats of the NRC learn the lessons of Chernobyl and Fukushima Japan?

Human reliability failure is the "clear and present danger" with any nuclear program. Deception is being practiced at the highest levels today concerning the risks of nuclear electrical power generation. Deception, the lack of scientific process and the ignoring of natural events will eventually lead to a disaster. The failure of values, placing money before life and health, will multiply the effect of a nuclear disaster. It is not possible to engineer your way out of a failed value system and a deceitful bureaucracy.

Costs of the nuclear renaissance from the Huffington Posts Green Blog:

"Despite buzz about a "nuclear renaissance," the industry has had trouble attracting private investment, and relies almost exclusively on government subsidies and support...exorbitant construction costs remain... PDF of a report by Senior Fellow at Yale University's Institute for Energy and the Environment Mark Cooper. "

"Meanwhile in the first quarter of 2011, renewable energy production in the U.S. surpassed nuclear for the first time. All signals point to significant growth in the solar and renewables markets over the next decade, while nuclear production has remained flat for years."

"Speaking at an American Nuclear Society conference in August 2011, John Rowe, CEO of Exelon, the country's largest nuclear utility said 3 of the 4 conditions necessary for expanding nuclear cannot be met. While newer designs offer the right technology, Rowe argues that the government has not resolved waste disposal issues. Additionally, there is currently excess generation capacity because the economic recession has slowed energy consumption. While this will likely change as we retire more coal plants and the economy grows, the influx of cheap natural gas from shale has undercut nuclear's higher prices."

What the NRC and Nuclear Industry Don't Want You to Know, Fukushima Nuclear Detonation

Unfortunately the public cannot rely on Japanese Governmental Agencies or U.S. Governmental Agencies to tell a truthful story about the events regarding the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster. However, there is one lesson the U.S nuclear regulators seem willing to accept, the nuclear disaster was caused by natural disasters resulting in an extended station blackout (power outage). The extended station blackout resulted in a loss of nuclear reactor core and  fuel pool cooling. A lack of nuclear fuel cooling resulted in multiple hydrogen explosions, the melting through of the reactor pressure vessel in at least one unit and the possibility of a fuel pool criticality event.

The involvement of the Plutonium Oxide fuel and the detonation within the reactor unit 3 fuel pool is the reason the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman recommended the evacuation of all U.S. Military personnel within a 50 mile radius of the Fukushima Nuclear plant site..

Nuclear fuel pellets were found 2 miles from the Fukushma nuclear plant as a result of the explosion. The Unit 3 reactor and its cooling pool contained Mixed Plutonium Oxide Fuel (MOX).

The expert testimony in the following You Tube videos display the likely hood of a nuclear detonation in Reactor Unit #3 as a result of a hydrogen explosion inducing a nuclear super criticality detonation in the fuel pool.

Fukushima Chronicles, An Industry Gone Mad; Fukushima and the Mass Media - Interview with Dr. Akira Tokuhiro, Professor University of Idaho‏

Animation of the FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR ACCIDENT REACTOR 2, You Tube by ml750

Dr. Akira Tokuhiro exposes the deceit and cultural difficulties surrounding the events in Fukushima, Japan nuclear disaster. My continuation of the Fukushima Chronicles, this edition - An Industry Gone Mad.

May 17, 2011 Huffington Post interview http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivian-norris-de-montaigu/interview-with-akira-toku_b_863297.html  with Dr. Akira Tokuhiro, Professor University of Idaho. "[Dr.]Akira Tokuhiro, professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering for the University of Idaho, was born in Tokyo, Japan, but now works in the Center for Advanced Energy Studies in Idaho Falls. Akira has more than 20 years of experience in nuclear engineering and has been closely monitoring the situation in Japan..."  http://www.uidaho.edu/idahofalls/features/faculty/akiratokuhiro

"The mass media in Japan is only given the information TEPCO and the government want to give them. Labor practices in Japan, he says, are quite brutal and when you get to the bottom of the labor force, those at the top of society do not really care about them."

"Why is TEPCO not telling anyone the truth? That these 3 units have partially melted and that they have known this for 3-4 weeks at least. They release only small amounts of information every day. Many nuclear engineering professionals have known, were able to figure out almost from the beginning, in fact perhaps from March 15, sixteen hours or so after the accident, that the core had melted. Was there any operator error involved? He understood that TEPCO workers retreated on March 12 because the radiation readings were simply too high. He believes that within 16 hours after this they already knew the core had melted. And even though no one wants to waste precious time pointing fingers and blaming, this information is much needed in order to learn about how the events surrounding Fukushima and these numerous criticalities can be avoided in the future. We have many many of these plants operating, in the U.S. and around the world."

"Virtually any nuclear engineer connected with the industry he or she supports cannot be fully trusted right now to give us the full truth about Fukushima because the truth is simply too damaging to the nuclear industry and they know it."   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivian-norris-de-montaigu/interview-with-akira-toku_b_863297.html

Has Fukushima's Reactor No. 1 Gone Critical?

Cutaway drawing of a GE Mark 1 Reactor.
IAEA-Fukishima Report: http://www.iaea.org/newscenter/news/tsunamiupdate01.html It is interesting to note that this report on the reactor status states reactors 1,2 and 3 cores are exposed but stable, http://www.slideshare.net/iaea/summary-of-reactor-status-1-april-2011-1300-utc There is nothing stable about an "exposed" reactor core. Note the report states there is no information on the #1 reactor. Note article below, it has "gone critical." Trusting the report is an issue, hiding the truth is another issue.

Has Fukushima's Reactor No. 1 Gone Critical?  Good question, the real question in reference to civilian nuclear power activities, can anyone trust the nuclear power industry? There are known health risks and scientific facts concerning the physics of a nuclear reaction. Unfortunately the nuclear power industry  lies about risks.

In the early days of the manufacture of nuclear weapons a criticality incident occurred, it was called "tickling the dragon." Unfortunately it led to the death of the scientist involved. It should be obvious 1 and possibly 2 of the reactor vessels at Fukishima are ruptured and a "melt down" is occurring. At least one reactor has became uncontrollable, in all probabilities there are 2 reactors which have reached a point of no return. The question becomes, just how far has the meltdown gone? Has the meltdown penetrated the confines of the reactor containment structures?

Libya - Nuclear Power Industry's "Wag the Dog" War - The Areva Connection??

              Updates from Nuclear News: http://nuclear-news.net/

The French lead the way in the war against Libya. http://blog.kirkpetersen.net/2011/03/libya-where-the-french-lead-the-way.html

The French think of themselves as leading the way in "the nuclear renaissance."  http://www.english.rfi.fr/france/20100308-france-leads-way-nuclear-power-paris-conference
http://arklite.blogspot.com/2009/06/nuclear-power-nuclear-meltdown-for.html

The Democrats have led the way for "wagging the dog," the last "Wag the Dog" war was brought to you by Democrat President William Jefferson Clinton in the attempts to move media focus from a Presidential sex scandal, as depicted in this 1997 film starring Robert De Niro.

Has the nuclear disaster and ongoing nuclear plant meltdowns in Japan necessitated another "Wag the Dog" political play to move the world wide media focus off of the  nuclear power industry's trillion dollar tax scam? Who leads the show in this "Wag the Dog" nuclear scenario? FRANCE. Who stands to loose big time if the nuclear energy meltdown continues in Fukushima, Japan? AREVA, Inc. 90% owned by the French government.

In the melting fuel pool of the  #3 reactor at the Fukushima Japan nuclear plant is the AREVA MOX/ Plutonium fuel. France has billions upon billions of dollars invested in the U.S Savannah River SHAW-AREVA  MOX/Plutonium Fuel plant, not to mention the tens of billions invested in their French MOX/Plutonium fuel facility. To watch their MOX fueled nuclear reactor melt down before the world's collective "television viewing eye" is more than the French or the nuclear funded Obama administration could stand, thus-a "Wag the Dog" political move. Move the public's attention away from the melting nuclear reactor disaster.

What is the nuclear industry hiding in their "Wag the Dog" war, "It's a bigger nuclear disaster than you think." The nuclear industry's fleecing of the American Tax Payer is on the line. Don't forget, the owners of a chunk of the television media, General Electric   http://www.freepress.net/ownership/chart/main , are the builders of the Fukushima Nuclear Reactors.
