JAMES MADISON QUOTE - 1822

"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives."

Fukushima Chronicles - the danger and the saga continues.

The GE Mark 1, a defective Nuclear Reactor design. 24 defective reactors of this type exist in the United States. 3 are located near Athens, Alabama at TVA's Browns Ferry Nuclear facility. The Browns Ferry Reactors have been problematic for many years, including a recent "Red Finding" by the NRC due to defective valves and poor management by TVA personnel at Browns Ferry.

A "grave situation" continues..."if Unit 4 were to catch fire, you would have to evacuate Tokyo...There is as much cesium in the fuel pool at Unit 4 as there was in all of the atomic bombs dropped in all of the tests in the 1940's, the 1950's, the 1960's, and into the 1970's. All of the above ground testing has less cesium in it than is in the reactor pool at Fukushima 4 right now...Tokyo Electric and the Japanese government are not taking the situation serious..." Discussion on prompt criticality detonation of Fukushima Daiichi Unit 3; the denial and ignoring or the detonation which occured at Unit 3.

Information and links on biomagnification and food contamination as a result of the Fukushima Disaster.
Cesium 137 has a half life of 30.17 years; in the food chain it mimics Potassium. The higher up the food chain the greater the biomagnification as each higher life form ingests the Cesium ingested from the lower life form, particularly in saltwater. It appears the science writer attempts to mislead readers.

Is the information listed in the AP article intentionally false or an uninformed opinion by the science writer? In the case of propaganda, there are usually true statements mixed with fallacy with the express purpose to mislead people exposed to the statement. The writer's statement is submitted as scientific fact, not opinion, the statement in question is an intentional fallacy.

Based on my previous experience with intentional false information by the Department of Defense establishment the statement in question is propaganda. "Don't worry people your tuna is safe," is the message conveyed. However, the facts point toward quite the opposite, your tuna is not safe. Particularly in this case of radioactive element contamination in tuna.

Mercury, like Cesium, is biomagnified. Pacific tuna which has been found to contain Mercury contamination. Mercury in Tuna: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090501195628.htm "...Researchers found that open-ocean fish have a much stronger [mercury] fingerprint than do coastal fish, a discovery that opens the door to new ways of analyzing human exposure to mercury." http://insciences.org/article.php?article_id=8425

--Biomagnification of radiocesium in a marine piscivorous fish "Radiocesium is the only trace element apart from Hg (mercury) that may be potentially biomagnified at the top of the marine planktonic food chain. We quantified the assimilation efficiency from ingested prey uptake rate from the aqueous phase and efflux rate of radiocesium in a marine piscivorous fish...the biomagnification of Cs137 in Marine predatory fishes is largely caused by the extremely high Cs137 assimilation from ingested prey, despite the high efflux rate of Cs137 compared to those measured in freshwater fishes." http://www.int-res.com/articles/meps/222/m222p227.pdf or http://www.cityu.edu.hk/ap/nru/pub_j44.pdf

Tritium in Water and Bioaccumulation of Cesium and Strontium
"The radionuclides cesium-137 and strontium-90 are both fission products with a
radiological half-life of about 30 years. If released into the environment, they can both
concentrate again at various steps of the food chain. The way they accumulate depends
on their chemical behavior."

"Cesium-137 has chemical properties that are similar to potassium. Because the cells in
plants, animals and in the human body cannot distinguish between cesium-137 and
potassium, cesium-137 can be mistaken by the body to be potassium and absorbed as
such. Because most potassium in the human body is found in the blood, cesium-137 can
be found in all parts of the human body." http://www.nuclearactive.org/docs/BF_FS.pdf

The Truth of Three Mile Island - Nuclear Deceit by the NRC and the Nuclear Industry

A You Tube video exposing the deceit of the Federal Government's nuclear watchdog, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the nuclear industry. Deaths, sickness and radiation poisoning as a result of the disaster. A government regulator who intentionally deceives the public is no regulator, it is a pawn for the nuclear industry.

Fukushima Chronicles - 1 Year After

One year after the Fukushima disaster there are distinct, demonstrated shortcomings in the nuclear industry. Nuclear power has great risks which the nuclear industry fails to convey to the public. The nuclear industry and government regulators within the United States express an attitude which is deadly and dangerous. Attitude failures-vanity, invincibility, neglect and a failed value system relating to money before human life and health with no regard and respect for the realities of our natural world is a dangerous combination which resulted in the Japanese Fukushima disaster.

Cancer Risk To Young Children Near Fukushima Daiichi Underestimated from Fairewinds Energy Education on Vimeo.
"Fairewinds analyzes cancer rates for young children near Fukushima using the National Academy of Science's BEIR (Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation) VII Report. Based on BEIR VII, Fairewinds determines that at least one in every 100 young girls will develop cancer for every year they are exposed to 20 millisieverts [millisievert (1 mSv = 0.001 Sv)] of radiation. The 20-millisievert/ year figure is what the Japanese government is currently calculating as the legal limit of radiological exposure to allow habitation of contaminated areas near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. In this video, Fairewinds introduces additional analysis by Ian Goddard showing that the BEIR VII report underestimates the true cancer rates to young children living near Fukushima Daiichi. Looking at the scientific data presented by Mr. Goddard, Fairewinds has determined that at least one out of every 20 young girls (5%) living in an area where the radiological exposure is 20 millisieverts for five years will develop cancer in their lifetime."

"Fukushima Nuclear plant released  far more radiation than reported...Caesium-137 fallout, however, is a much greater concern because it will linger in the environment for decades. The new model shows that Fukushima released 3.5 × 1016  Bq caesium-137, roughly twice the official government figure..."

Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) Blog, Fukushima-One Year After: http://blog.cleanenergy.org/2012/03/08/remembering-fukushima-one-year-later/

Perhaps the greatest error of Fukushima is based on an attitude of invincibility and a non-scientific approach to risk and problem solving as expressed in the Carnigie Report on the Fukushima disaster introduction. The last sentence sums up the dangerous attitude- "... perhaps most importantly, many believed that a severe accident was simply impossible."

The Carnigie Endowment for International Peace Report: "Why Fukushima Was Preventable"-
"Though there is no single reason for TEPCO and NISA’s failure to follow international best practices and standards, a number of potential underlying causes can be identified. NISA lacked independence from both the government agencies responsible for promoting nuclear power and also from industry. In the Japanese nuclear industry, there has been a focus on seismic safety to the exclusion of other possible risks. Bureaucratic and professional stovepiping made nuclear officials unwilling to take advice from experts outside of the field. Those nuclear professionals also may have failed to effectively utilize local knowledge. And, perhaps most importantly, many believed that a severe accident was simply impossible." http://carnegieendowment.org/2012/03/06/why-fukushima-was-preventable/a0i7
From Fairewinds engineer Arnie Gunderson: "This Carnegie Study is similar to the Greenpeace study but Carnegie is more supportive of nuclear and portrays these problems as solvable. Greenpeace said the accidents were due to regulatory capture and the echo chamber effect and suggests international nuclear pressures are systemic."
The Fukushima Report from Greenpeace leads off in one segment with this quote: " For a successful technology, reality must take precedent over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." Quote by Richard Feynman. The Greenpeace study is at http://www.fairewinds.com/content/echo-chamber-regulatory-capture-and-fukushima-daiichi-disaster

"Fairewinds shows that the nuclear industry's plan to vent the containment at Fukushima Daiichi could not have prevented a containment failure and the ensuing explosions. Look at the graphics from the containment stress tests conducted more than 40 years ago at a US nuclear reactor identical to Fukushima Daiichi Unit 1. This video and its graphics provide important clues about why Fukushima Daiichi Unit 1 exploded."

FOIA disclosures reveal deceit on the part of the NRC: "USS Ronald Reagan measured 0.6 mR/hr direct gamma shine from clouds 130 miles from Fukushima Daiichi" -
http://enformable.com/2012/03/uss-ronald-reagan-measured-0-6-mrhr-direct-gamma-shine-from-clouds-130-miles-from-fukushima-daiichi/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+Enformable+%28Enformable%29

Indications of intentional cover-up by Nuclear Regulatory Commission - nuclear industry concerns placed before human safety health & welfare.

“Really troubling” wind shift said NRC: 1,000 microSv thyroid dose south of Tokyo over ten hour period on Mar. 14 reported US Navy — 300km from Fukushima — “This reminds me of the drill” http://enenews.com/really-troubling-1000-microsievert-thyroid-dose-south-of-tokyo-over-ten-hour-period-on-march-14-reported-us-navy-nrc-over-300km-from-fukushima/comment-page-1

Intentional cover-up by the NRC: http://enenews.com/nrc-weve-stop-labs-testing-fukushima-radiation-directors-knock-doe-cool-worried-about-talking-press-about-consequences

FOIA disclosure, NRC report from Japan: "There is spent fuel and pellets and whatever all over the place around the plant." http://enenews.com/nrcs-top-man-japan-spent-fuel-pellets-all-place-around-plant-trying-clean-dose-going-be-incredible
Top US nuke official in Japan: "Take it slow “without just running the military in there to kill people” for us to feel better..." http://enenews.com/top-us-nuke-official-in-japan-take-it-slow-without-just-running-the-military-in-there-to-kill-people-wait-so-its-without-a-lot-of-loss-of-life-300-millisieverts-per-hour-outside-react

As we examine the after action reports and news stories it should become obvious where the actual failure lies. Unfortunately, it seems the problem in the United States, as it was in Japan, we do not learn the lessons of history, nor consider that human error and the attitudes and failed values associated with the failures, which lead to the disaster, is occuring in the United States today. The real questions: How much pain, suffering and costs will it take? Will it take making a United States city a ghost town before our political leadership and the nuclear industry's supportive bureaucrats of the NRC learn the lessons of Chernobyl and Fukushima Japan?

Human reliability failure is the "clear and present danger" with any nuclear program. Deception is being practiced at the highest levels today concerning the risks of nuclear electrical power generation. Deception, the lack of scientific process and the ignoring of natural events will eventually lead to a disaster. The failure of values, placing money before life and health, will multiply the effect of a nuclear disaster. It is not possible to engineer your way out of a failed value system and a deceitful bureaucracy.

Fukushima Chronicles, the Continuing Saga - GE Mark 1 Reactors in the United States and the Costs of Nuclear Power

Update: Nov 3, 2011 Apparently another explosion in Fukushima, Reactor #2. It is reported the mass is critical, again. http://enformable.com/2011/11/breaking-fukushima-daiichi-did-unit-2-just-blow-a-hole-in-the-side-photos/

Report from Bloomberg: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-11-01/tepco-says-nuclear-fission-possible-at-fukushima-plant-2-.html

"“Melted fuel in the No. 2 reactor may have undergone a sustained process of nuclear fission or re-criticality,” Tetsuo Ito, the head of Kinki University’s Atomic Energy Research Institute, said by phone. “The nuclear fission should be containable by injecting boron into the reactor to absorb neutrons.”"

"It’s possible there are similar reactions occurring in the No. 1 and No. 3 reactors, the other cores damaged at the station," Matsumoto said.

Costs of the nuclear renaissance from the Huffington Posts Green Blog:

"Despite buzz about a "nuclear renaissance," the industry has had trouble attracting private investment, and relies almost exclusively on government subsidies and support...exorbitant construction costs remain... PDF of a report by Senior Fellow at Yale University's Institute for Energy and the Environment Mark Cooper. "

"Meanwhile in the first quarter of 2011, renewable energy production in the U.S. surpassed nuclear for the first time. All signals point to significant growth in the solar and renewables markets over the next decade, while nuclear production has remained flat for years."

"Speaking at an American Nuclear Society conference in August 2011, John Rowe, CEO of Exelon, the country's largest nuclear utility said 3 of the 4 conditions necessary for expanding nuclear cannot be met. While newer designs offer the right technology, Rowe argues that the government has not resolved waste disposal issues. Additionally, there is currently excess generation capacity because the economic recession has slowed energy consumption. While this will likely change as we retire more coal plants and the economy grows, the influx of cheap natural gas from shale has undercut nuclear's higher prices."

Fukushima Chronicles, An Industry Gone Mad; Fukushima and the Mass Media - Interview with Dr. Akira Tokuhiro, Professor University of Idaho‏

Animation of the FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR ACCIDENT REACTOR 2, You Tube by ml750

Dr. Akira Tokuhiro exposes the deceit and cultural difficulties surrounding the events in Fukushima, Japan nuclear disaster. My continuation of the Fukushima Chronicles, this edition - An Industry Gone Mad.

May 17, 2011 Huffington Post interview http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivian-norris-de-montaigu/interview-with-akira-toku_b_863297.html  with Dr. Akira Tokuhiro, Professor University of Idaho. "[Dr.]Akira Tokuhiro, professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering for the University of Idaho, was born in Tokyo, Japan, but now works in the Center for Advanced Energy Studies in Idaho Falls. Akira has more than 20 years of experience in nuclear engineering and has been closely monitoring the situation in Japan..."  http://www.uidaho.edu/idahofalls/features/faculty/akiratokuhiro

"The mass media in Japan is only given the information TEPCO and the government want to give them. Labor practices in Japan, he says, are quite brutal and when you get to the bottom of the labor force, those at the top of society do not really care about them."

"Why is TEPCO not telling anyone the truth? That these 3 units have partially melted and that they have known this for 3-4 weeks at least. They release only small amounts of information every day. Many nuclear engineering professionals have known, were able to figure out almost from the beginning, in fact perhaps from March 15, sixteen hours or so after the accident, that the core had melted. Was there any operator error involved? He understood that TEPCO workers retreated on March 12 because the radiation readings were simply too high. He believes that within 16 hours after this they already knew the core had melted. And even though no one wants to waste precious time pointing fingers and blaming, this information is much needed in order to learn about how the events surrounding Fukushima and these numerous criticalities can be avoided in the future. We have many many of these plants operating, in the U.S. and around the world."

"Virtually any nuclear engineer connected with the industry he or she supports cannot be fully trusted right now to give us the full truth about Fukushima because the truth is simply too damaging to the nuclear industry and they know it."   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivian-norris-de-montaigu/interview-with-akira-toku_b_863297.html

Has Fukushima's Reactor No. 1 Gone Critical?

Fukishima Daiichi Facility after explosions as viewed by satellite imagery

Cutaway drawing of a GE Mark 1 Reactor.
IAEA-Fukishima Report: http://www.iaea.org/newscenter/news/tsunamiupdate01.html It is interesting to note that this report on the reactor status states reactors 1,2 and 3 cores are exposed but stable, http://www.slideshare.net/iaea/summary-of-reactor-status-1-april-2011-1300-utc There is nothing stable about an "exposed" reactor core. Note the report states there is no information on the #1 reactor. Note article below, it has "gone critical." Trusting the report is an issue, hiding the truth is another issue.

Has Fukushima's Reactor No. 1 Gone Critical?  Good question, the real question in reference to civilian nuclear power activities, can anyone trust the nuclear power industry? There are known health risks and scientific facts concerning the physics of a nuclear reaction. Unfortunately the nuclear power industry  lies about risks.

In the early days of the manufacture of nuclear weapons a criticality incident occurred, it was called "tickling the dragon." Unfortunately it led to the death of the scientist involved. It should be obvious 1 and possibly 2 of the reactor vessels at Fukishima are ruptured and a "melt down" is occurring. At least one reactor has became uncontrollable, in all probabilities there are 2 reactors which have reached a point of no return. The question becomes, just how far has the meltdown gone? Has the meltdown penetrated the confines of the reactor containment structures?

This is one of the better articles I have seen on the subject of the Fukishima nuclear disaster, http://www.zimbio.com/Fusion+power/articles/XfpPuePkED3/Japan+Fukushima+Nuclear+Plants+Reaching+Critical

Libya - Nuclear Power Industry's "Wag the Dog" War - The Areva Connection??

              Updates from Nuclear News: http://nuclear-news.net/

The French lead the way in the war against Libya. http://blog.kirkpetersen.net/2011/03/libya-where-the-french-lead-the-way.html

The Democrats have led the way for "wagging the dog," the last "Wag the Dog" war was brought to you by Democrat President William Jefferson Clinton in the attempts to move media focus from a Presidential sex scandal, as depicted in this 1997 film starring Robert De Niro.

Has the nuclear disaster and ongoing nuclear plant meltdowns in Japan necessitated another "Wag the Dog" political play to move the world wide media focus off of the  nuclear power industry's trillion dollar tax scam? Who leads the show in this "Wag the Dog" nuclear scenario? FRANCE. Who stands to loose big time if the nuclear energy meltdown continues in Fukushima, Japan? AREVA, Inc. 90% owned by the French government.

In the melting fuel pool of the  #3 reactor at the Fukushima Japan nuclear plant is the AREVA MOX/ Plutonium fuel. France has billions upon billions of dollars invested in the U.S Savannah River SHAW-AREVA  MOX/Plutonium Fuel plant, not to mention the tens of billions invested in their French MOX/Plutonium fuel facility. To watch their MOX fueled nuclear reactor melt down before the world's collective "television viewing eye" is more than the French or the nuclear funded Obama administration could stand, thus-a "Wag the Dog" political move. Move the public's attention away from the melting nuclear reactor disaster.

Japanese Nuclear Plant explodes, the steel skeleton of the upper portion of the unit 1 reactor building, Fukushima Daiichi nuclear facility, is all that remains. Complicating the issue is the deceit of the nuclear industry. The issue of trust is critical, how are we to trust an industry who intentionally deceives the public concerning a disaster. In the case of the Japanese government they also appear to be participating in the deceit.
.
The upper shell of the containment building was blown away due to the buildup of hydrogen gas in the containment vessel, the building itself, maybe both, the resulting explosion decimated the structure.
.
The issuing of Iodine tablets will not result in facilitating trust, a critical factor in determining safety and security of citizens surrounding the area of a nuclear plant.
.
Confidence in our nuclear regulators, NRC, has not been established when the regulators decided to continue the construction of the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant without one vote of approval. The vote of the NRC was 3 votes jointly approved/disapproved and 1 vote disapproved, the Chairman and senior staff officials of the NRC stated, "unprecedented." The critical issue of placing trust, safety and following critical regulation to insure the health and safety of the public before profit of an industry is dissolved in a bureaucratic conundrum in support of the nuclear industry's bottom line.
.
The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear facility disaster is a further display concerning the risk of nuclear power. The unthinkable can and does occur.
.

Censorship of Nuclear Events: To find the truth one must look to foreign news sources, see below. Update: Mar 17, 2011 - The state of reactor # 2 seems to be a question. This report says the #2 reactor has exploded. "Officials had grown increasingly worried about Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant unit 2 after two hydrogen explosions in three days occurred at the plant, and the unit lost its ability to cool. The fuel rods on unit 2 became fully exposed for the second time Monday, a dangerous development in the effort to stop the reactor from melting down." http://abcnews.go.com/International/japan-earthquake-radiation-leaking-fukushima-nuclear-plant-explodes/story?id=13131123&page=2   Mysteriously, the #2 reator is able to hold water and be cooled since power has been reestablished according to Tokyo Power.

CONTAMINATION, FIRES, FAILED SAFETY SYSTEMS PLAGUE U.S. NUCLEAR PLANTS. Nuclear Safety Event Reports for Nuclear Reactors and Fuels Facilities

Nuclear Zombie'shttp://www.thenation.com/article/zombie-nuke-plants by Christian Parenti, art work by Edwin Vazquez
************************* Stop Bellefonte *************************
This is the second report I have compiled of this nature. The first: http://arklite.blogspot.com/2009/08/nuclear-power-is-not-safe-nor-clean.html There is a national concern that the formal press and media outlets do not report the frequency of Nuclear Facility Accidents and serious events within the United States. It has previously been found that aging nuclear power facilities have systems failures, redundant safety systems do fail. These reports indicate a serious problem with nuclear fuels fabrication facilities.
>
There are incidents which have resulted in Radioactive Materials being released into the local environment. In many cases these releases are not reported.
>
It has been recently reported that the nuclear manufactoring industry has poured over $620 million dollars into propaganda programs and politicians campaign funds in the last 10 years. A culture of deceit and propaganda in regards to nuclear safety is increasingly more and more alarming.
> The following information is compiled from the Event Reports of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, NRC. NRC link for more detailed event reports: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/event-status/event/2009/index.html
>
NRC Emergency and Serious Event Reports for 1st Quarter FY 2010, October-December 2009. Serious contamination events, fires, security breeches and failed safety systems reflect serious problems for U.S. nuclear reactors and nuclear fuels manufactoring facilities. (40 events)

Nuclear Power Zombies

.................The Nuclear Zombie by Christian Parenti.............

A couple of great articles on the insanity of nuclear power. "Three Mile Island, the NRC and Obama," or how the crazy nuclear activist saved the North East.  http://www.thenation.com/article/three-mile-island-nrc-and-obama#axzz2aWMYrhHg

President Obama Supports Nuclear Power

President Obama participates in the Nuclear Deception. The nuclear construction industry wasted no time in capitalizing on the Obama Administration's ill advised support of further nuclear power plant construction as evidenced by this NEI blog post:http://neinuclearnotes.blogspot.com/2009/10/word-or-two-from-president.html More evidence that he is just another socialist pawn of multi-national corporations.

>
President Obama supports nuclear power, stating the French and Japanese nuclear programs are models for us.
>
The President's statement in New Orleans yesterday: "There's no reason why technologically we can't employ nuclear energy in a safe and effective way. Japan does it and France does it and it doesn't have greenhouse gas emissions, so it would be stupid for us not to do that in a much more effective way."
>
I guess no one briefed our President on recent French and Japanese accidents which have killed people and contaminated farmland and rivers, not to mention the intentional radioactive contamination of the English Channel by Areva, it has been recently reported the amount of radioactive contamination is decreasing in the English Channel. Just think, would it not be just "peachy keen" to read in our local paper, "The amount of radioactive contamination is decreasing in the Tennessee River at Scottsboro. A fine legacy we plan on leaving our children!

UPDATE, Oct 16,2009: From Steven Chu, Secretary of Energy--The U.S. government will announce loan guarantees for nuclear plants “very soon,” Chu said. “Nuclear power is an important part of what the U.S. has to do to reduce emissions.”
The U.S. is “working aggressively to restart the nuclear industry,” he said. “I believe the nuclear waste problem is solvable on a scientific level and a political level.” http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=acZ_t_.bADeE
>>>
A political trade off in the making, further nuclear construction for the passage of Cap and Trade, the backdoor Kyoto Protocol? Maybe a political trade off for concessions in a government sponsored national health care program?
>>>
UPDATE 3, Oct 21, 2009: After researching the Obama Administrations plans it becomes evident this was planned 4 months ago and is a trade off. Nuclear Power for the passage of the Kyoto Protocol. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/jul/08/nuclear-power-obama-us

More on Nuclear Safety, More Critical Events, More Nuclear Accidents‏

After review of today's NRC Event reports http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/event-status/event/2009/20091006en.html there are 2 more Critical Events to report. 1) Event # 45412, Nine Mile Point, N.Y. Unit 1 Power Reactor: MANUAL SCRAM AND HIGH PRESSURE COOLANT INJECTION FOLLOWING A LOSS OF FEEDWATER LEVEL CONTROL. Reactor is reported to be in mode 3. 2) Event # 45413, PADUCAH GASEOUS DIFFUSION PLANT, URANIUM ENRICHMENT FACILITY at Paducah, Ky. UNPLANNED CONTAMINATION DURING STARTUP. UF6, Uranium Hexaflouride, the amount of material released has not yet been determined, decontamination is underway.

Remember our nuclear workers, 160,000 claims under the 2000 Energy Workers Compensation Act, over 40,000 claims awarded, 1200 never received any money as they died prior to claims being paid. http://www.wildclearing.com/ice-ages/the-exposed.html

Nuclear Power is not safe, it is not clean, it is not cheap ($8-$9 billion for one nuclear reactor).
Update: As of May of 2009 there have been Nationwide, since the act was implemented in 2001, Department of Labor has paid 51,331 claimants more than $4.8 billion in compensation and medical benefits. Claimants toll-free number: 1-866-481-0411.

Nuclear Power Is Not Safe nor Clean, 45 Day Nuclear Accident/Event Reports

Political leadership in Scottsboro and Jackson County are not concerned with citizen safety. They have blindly supported a nuclear Bellefonte so they may reap the rewards of increased TVA in lieu of taxes.
>
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) reports in the last 45 days the following Serious Incidents or as some say "Nuclear Accidents." Event notification reports may be read at this NRC address: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/event-status/event/2009/index.html
>
The NRC reports indicate 14 accidents/events within the past 45 days which in some cases resulted in radioactive contamination requiring the donning of protective equipment, extinguishing of fires in critical areas or reactor scrams. The 2 most serious being a fire and release of toxic gas at the Columbia, Wa. Nuclear Reactor (event #45245) and a release of toxic-radioactive uranium dust into a building where nuclear fuel was being manufactured at Metropolis, Il. (event #45195).
>
The reports indicate several fires, drunk on duty, pressure leakages, failing equipment, failed communications, tritium leakage, failed cooling pumps and loss of critical safety controls. Event #'s 45245, 45255, 45183, 45013, 45193, 45195, 45196, 45200, 45203, 45207, 45208, 45210, 45228, 45328. There are several other events listed including those involving TVA personnel drunk on duty and less significant events not listed which reflect equipment failures. Less serious events did not require protective measures or reactor scrams. Redundant safety systems did appear to be in working order. However, in some cases it was reported backup safety systems and communications equipment had failed. In all cases of emergency conditions or the report of a critical event the reactors which were at 100% power did successfully trip to a 0% power state.
>
Nuclear Power is not safe, it is not clean and it is very expensive. It is time the politicians and the nuclear industry stop lying to the public about the safety and cleanliness of nuclear power. Nuclear power is inherently dangerous, this is the reason for the many controls and redundant safety systems. Unfortunately the nuclear industries propaganda machine has consistently attempted to deceive the public concerning nuclear accidents and serious events.

Shocking Scientific Reports, Deaths From Nuclear Radiation

Could it be that the advocates of Nuclear Energy do not give a damn for you, your children, grandchildren or anyone else for that matter? Are the corporations and advocates of nuclear energy colossal liars of the caliber of a mass murderer? Has the public been intentionally scammed and lied to in a colossal national deceit program about the safety of nuclear power? This report reflects the severity of the lie: http://newsmine.org/content.php?ol=nature-health/65-million-nuclear-deaths.txt

Cover ups, releases of radioactive materials: http://www.truthout.org/article/tennessee-nuclear-fuel-problems-kept-secret more about cover ups and lies: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2465/is_3_31/ai_73040730 The 3 Mile Island lie: http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/11/19/5325/ , other nuclear accidents: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_civilian_nuclear_accidents#2000s Nuclear Accidents in progress: http://www.davistownmuseum.org/cbm/Rad16.html Then there is this, http://www.wildclearing.com/ice-ages/the-exposed.html 41,869 "Poisoned Nuclear Workers" either sick or dieing. These are people just like you and I, citizens of the Southeastern United States of America. Their only difference is they had a job handling radioactive materials.
The real question is, after all this information why do we still continue to build nuclear power plants? There can only be 1 of 2 answers, 1) all the information, links listed, is not true; 2) the nuclear industry via our government has deceived the public at large with a colossal lie for money.
