Political Strategy, Media and Propaganda/ Maskirovka in Action

The new face of the Republican Party exposed, deceit, extremism, propaganda.

The TVA is directly connected to local political deceit. In their efforts to build and spend 10's of billions of dollars on new nuclear construction the TVA is waging a propaganda campaign of unprecedented proportions. To include directly intervening in the local political process to garner support.

What seems to be internet trolls are sometimes not trolls at all. But an intentional effort to disrupt for the purpose of political control of discussion forums. This current technique is being utilized on "al.com's Scottsboro forum."

Intelligence and Propaganda. The old Soviet/Russian technique of the Political Maskirovka is being utilized by the Republican Party on local discussion forums and political action within rural areas of Alabama.

Forum notes and tactics. On "al.com's" Scottsboro forum an interesting communication trend has developed. Previously censorship was utilized as a tool to eliminate unwanted political discussion. Advanced techniques of political propaganda are now being utilized.

One person or group names utilized on the same page for the purpose of disruption. 9 names, same pattern of word usage, same theme in their speech. The names: kosmocramer, thebanditt, HarbourTown, indianplaya, takemeback2yesteryear, 1sttofight, statelottery, joepepitone, androsteve.

This is my theory on the situation based on observation, consistent trends of communicative action by the individual or group, interviews and intelligence gathering: All names above used on this forum page initiated by the same person or group of people working in a coordinated attempt to disrupt speech within this forum. This effort has been occurring since the forum was reinstated approximately 5 years ago. However, the effort has dramatically increased within the past year.

All have several common factors. 1) Right wing extremist oriented; 2) intentional attacks; 3) bigoted expression; 4)intentional disruption; 5) pander to those who support right wing extremism; 6) high probability of political motivation by the Republican Party; 7) high probability supported and coordinated by media and Republican Party political staff for the sole purpose of preventing open discussion of political topics.

In this case, it seems if you do not support the radical ideology of right wing extremism of the Republican Party an attempt is made to radically alter the use of the forum for communications and discussion.

An increase of right wing extremist speech has been noted as follows: 1) discussion of the TVA's nuclear plant construction at Bellefonte; 2)since the election of President Obama; 3) creation of the Scottsboro Boys Museum and Cultural Center.

A change in tactics. Censorship as a tool for suppression of political speech previously utilized has waned for the use of more advanced communicative propaganda techniques.

Word from Huntsville has it the Huntsville Times will stop covering news items in Jackson, Marshall and Dekalb Counties in a couple of months via closure of the Times Bureau in northeast Alabama. This makes me wonder about the influence of the Republican Party in this deal?

Northeast Alabama is a strong Blue Dog Democrat area. It seems the Republicans have to resort to surreptitious tactics, such as DR. Griffith's party switch and formation of "hidden" rural political groups to gain political ground.

It has been discovered that the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC), http://alcofcc.wordpress.com/ has become involved in various positions within the Republican Party as well as having leadership support in media outlets. The CCC is a group which supports right wing extremist ideology and racism.

TVA's big dream, 4 nuclear power units at BLN, Bellefonte. The TVA is near their Congressional mandated debt cap of $30 Billion. In last weeks TVA Board Meeting it was announced there has been a "serious reduction in load," decreasing electrical sales, demand is way down except during historical peak load times where peak load is increasing. The TVA's liabilities are increasing while sales are decreasing. The Chief Financial Officer of the TVA reports, (1) "we have a serious economic situation due to low sales, (2) the Kingston Disaster, up to $825 million cost, (3) a $3 Billion Dollar loss in Retirement Funds and Nuclear Plant Decommissioning Funds from the Stock Market loss....(4) the North Carolina legal action concerning air pollution could cost the TVA $1 Billion...(5) a settlement was reached with Areva for cancelled fuel assemblies for Bellefonte from units 1&2, Areva sued for $47 million, TVA and Areva settled in arbitration for $8 million." Total debt was not revealed in the Quarterly Meeting. Last quarter debt disclosure reflected a debt of $25 Billion plus. TVA's Bellefonte Units 1 & 2, 3 miles from Scottsboro, Al. at Hollywood, Al. on the Tennessee River.

If the TVA is to continue with the nuclear project they must stop the lies being pandered on local citizens by TVA's Officials and local politicians. Unfortunately our elected leaders and governmental officials can't seem to figure out there are citizens who will not tolerate the continuing stream of lies and deceit pandered by elected officials and governmental bureaucrats in relationship to the Bellefonte Nuclear Project. It is the lies and circumvention of laws and policy in building this power plant that causes the delays. The bureaucrats and the propaganda machine of the nuclear industry attempt to blame delays on "environmental activists." When in fact the delays are created by propaganda artists and downright lies on the part of governments officials. The TVA, politicians and bureaucrats can't seem to bring themselves to tell the truth concerning Bellefonte, not to mention a continuous stream of lies about other energy issues and national problems. How will a broke TVA pay for Bellefonte? TVA refuses to discuss or disclose that information.

In this mornings weekend edition of the Daily Sentinel another story attempting to clarify yesterdays story about the Nuclear Plant Construction. There is much that is not said and lies that are being told, once again. It is very disappointing to see a recently elected Federal Official in the name of Parker Griffith "lie thru his teeth."

(Meaning the alleged reinstatement of the construction permits for Bellefonte.)Bringing down the cost of energy has always proven to be a big shot in the arm of a failing economy, and I am proud to say we are one step closer to that."

Mr. Griffith, I am shocked and ashamed to say that you are this areas political representative in Washington. You are not telling the truth and are pumping the areas residents full of more Washington political B.S. Nuclear power is not cheap and it will not bring down the cost of energy. Fellow citizens, "if you can't do it right you ought not do it at all." An old adage that holds much weight. The NRC in this case has violated their own policy and the law in this matter. The Bellefonte license was withdrawn, it is no longer a valid license. There is no reinstatement of a defunct, not valid construction license-permit, the NRC is making up the story as they go, they admit it, "unprecedented" is their statement. The TVA and area politicians are attempting to peddle political influence in attempts to circumvent law and NRC policy, they are being successful, for now.

If Bellefonte is to be built this type of political and bureaucratic deceit only hampers the process and will result in legal action being filed against the parties involved. From NRC official documentation, "BLN Unit 1 was approximately 90% complete and Unit 2 was approximately 58% complete." Unfortunately those figures do not hold weight, the reactor vessels and operating controls were stripped many months ago. Why not do it right instead of making it up as you go? Toshiba, Westinghouse, Bechtel getting nervous for their billions of dollars promised?

Isn't it wonderful, we as citizens and rate payers are still paying on a defunct Bellefonte Nuclear Plant, Areva and TVA settled for $8 million in a $47 million suit Areva filed against the TVA for cancelling the nuclear fuel assemblies for Bellefonte Units 1&2.
