JAMES MADISON QUOTE - 1822

"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives."

9272. The ten commandments
by ScottsboroConfidential, 09/04/14 6:40 PM

So, the commission is giving up on job growth, overcoming the deficit, etc in favor of a lightning rod of an issue that will ultimately cost the county both future jobs and a lawsuit?

No one wants to locate here anyway. Let's throw this issue into the fire and what it blow.

If pursued, this will cost the county money. Why, why are they going down this road?

Answer by EagleN4457  9272.1 The Alabama Republican Party is only interested in divisionary, radical political ideology. by EagleN4457, 09/04/14 8:13 PM

Purpose, to gain support from religious right wing fanatics which hate our Democrat black President. They will do anything to create political wedge issues which they think will benefit the party and its political elected officials. It does not matter if the issue will damage the area, county finances or make the rest of the world think we are fanatics, just so the Republican politician gets noticed and places forth their radical right wing ideology of a religious-political government.

Jackson County Courthouse , Scottsboro, Alabama Jackson County Commission Work Session August 11, 2014 - GOP Strategy, Ten Commandments to be Displayed, or Are the Taxpayers Seen as a Money Tree?

(Story last updated 10AM, Aug 13, 2014) Regular Session and the rest of the Work Session videos and agenda will be posted soon.

GOP Strategy at work in Jackson County Alabama - Politics do not equal religious values, freedom and liberty as outlined in our Constitution. How do you rally people to oppose the Affordable Care Act? "The promise of the Ten Commandments, is how you get a person without healthcare to vote for the party whose platform is based on repealing the Affordable Care Act."

Item 4 on the Work Session Agenda: Jackson County Commission to decide on display of 10 Commandments along with Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution as Historical Documents related to the founding of our nation. Commissioner Tim Guffey brought forth the discussion. It was stated by the Chairman if costs for the displays could be acquired, the issue could be voted on at next Monday's meeting. Has the budget problem suddenly disappeared, can the citizens of Jackson County now enjoy this type of expenditure?

WAFF NEWS Report by Steve McLamb on issue with video
4:30PM WAFF news report by Steven McLamb: Mr. Tim Guffey has stated no county funds will be utilized for this display. Further news updates will follow.

6PM WAFF by Steve McLamb: "He believes the country is moving away from the foundation it was formed upon, and feels those documents collectively would serve as a public reminder...Guffey hopes this starts a grassroots movement and hopefully encourages other counties to do the same. He hopes to take the rest of the month getting input from residents before introducing the resolution for a vote." http://www.waff.com/story/26262680/jackson-co-seeks-input-on-ten-commandments-installation-at-courthouse  4:30PM WAFF news report by Steven McLamb: Mr. Tim Guffey has stated no county funds will be utilized for this display. I'm wondering if folks realize that outside of Court Room 1 in the Jackson County Courthouse, a copy of the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution are posted under glass on the wall, been there for years.

RIGHT WING POLITICAL-RELIGOUS HYPOCRICY
Alabama GOP/Tea Party Issue - "According to the Pew Research Center, Alabama is the second most religious state in the nation with 74 percent of residents saying religion is very important in their lives. Number one is Mississippi. It is a pitiful irony that those states that are most religious are also states with the most individual suffering. More than 30 percent of the children in these two states suffer extreme poverty. In both states, the primary reason for abject poverty is that more than a third of children have parents who lack secure employment, decent wages, and healthcare... these poor saps vote for the party that rejects Medicaid expansion, opposes early education expansion, legislates larger cuts to education, and slashes food stamps to make room for oil and agriculture subsidies on top of tax cuts and loopholes for corporations and the wealthy."

POLITICS DOES NOT EQUAL HISTORICAL FACT NOR MAKE A CHRISTIAN
In the last session of the state legislature, the Alabama Senate attempted to legislate for the display of Ten Commandments in public buildings, such as courthouses and schools.
State Sen. Trip Pittman (R-AL),  "We talk about the constitutionality of them, but we have to understand the purpose of these is the laws of God," he said. "And we think they may have passed irrelevance because of the constitutional question, but beyond that, which is the most important, it's also about behavior and conduct through the ages."
State Rep. DuWayne Bridges (R-AL) declared, “School shootings, patricide and matricide are due to the Ten Commandments not being displayed in schools and other government buildings.” Bridges also said, "The Tenth Amendment [sic] was adopted before the people of Israel crossed the Red Sea because Moses didn't get to cross the Red Sea.”

Shrewd political strategy - for the promise of tax cuts for the rich is hardly an effective platform for rallying the Republican Party base in a midterm election year. The promise of the Ten Commandments, however, is how you get a person without healthcare to vote for the party whose platform is based on repealing the Affordable Care Act.  Read More at: http://www.alternet.org/tea-party-and-right/how-hyper-religious-political-stunts-republicans-keeps-their-voters-captive

Supreme Court of the United States Symbols Displayed
Representations of symbols in the Supreme Court and their official descriptions may be found here, this includes the descriptions of the "Law Givers:" Confucius, Mohammed and Moses, among others, are displayed.   http://www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?Search=Courtroom+Friezes&type=Site

The American Center for Law and Justice has this to say:  "The Public Display of the Ten Commandments on Government Property May be Constitutional if Done Properly. While the Court decides these issues on a case by case basis, it seems that the display of the Ten Commandments in courthouses and capital buildings does not violate the Court’s view of the First Amendment when there is a secular purpose for the display, the display is paid for by private parties, and the display includes other equally prominent foundational documents."  http://aclj.org/church-state/ten-commandments

Applicable articles questioning whether the Ten Commandments should be displayed.
"The idea that the United States could be a “Christian nation” is theologically problematic.  The only “Christian nation” which the New Testament envisions is the Kingdom of God, which transcends national, cultural, and ethnic boundaries.  Were the United States to be a “Christian nation,” she would have to do more than celebrate Christmas as a federal holiday and display the Ten Commandments in her courthouses.  If she were held to the same standards to which the New Testament holds the Christian community, the United States would have to embody Christian principles, including the mandate to love one’s enemy, eschew power, put away the sword, give freely without any expectation of repayment, and – because she is very rich – sell all her material possessions, donate the proceeds to the poor, then take up a cross of discipleship.  The consumerism and materialism which characterize so much of the American ethos – Jefferson’s “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” was a modification of John Locke’s “life, liberty, and the pursuit of property,” and indeed most versions of the American Dream equate property with happiness – seem to be at odds with most versions of core Christian values.  In short, the United States is not a “Christian nation,” and simply displaying representations of the Ten Commandments in public locations does not change this reality." http://www.stateofformation.org/2011/01/five-reasons-why-i-a-christian-oppose-the-public-display-of-the-ten-commandments-part-i/

RECENT NEW MEXICO CASE "Peter Simonson, ACLU of New Mexico's executive director, praised the ruling, calling it “a victory for the First Amendment's protections against government endorsed religion...We firmly support the right of individuals, religious groups and community associations to publicly display religious monuments, but the government should not be in the business of picking which sets of religious beliefs belong at city hall...”"
http://www.daily-times.com/four_corners-news/ci_26296273/federal-judge-rules-ten-commandments-monument-front-bloomfield  AP report on case: http://www.heraldstandard.com/united_states_ap/judge-rules-ten-commandments-monument-must-go/article_e27ec7cb-5329-5bdc-bb39-4b5a5ffb5778.html

SUPREME COURT OF THE U.S - MCCREARY COUNTY vs ACLU, 2004 - Discussion -  "The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued three Kentucky counties in federal district court for displaying framed copies of the Ten Commandments in courthouses and public schools. The ACLU argued the displays violated the First Amendment's establishment clause, which prohibits the government from passing laws "respecting an establishment of religion." The district court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the displays violated the establishment clause."

Decision - "In a 5-4 opinion delivered by Justice David Souter, the majority held that the displays violated the establishment clause because their purpose had been to advance religion. In the case of each of the displays, the Court held, an observer would have concluded that the government was endorsing religion. The first display for presenting the Ten Commandments in isolation; the second for showing the Commandments along with other religious passages; the third for presenting the Commandments in a presentation of the "Foundations of American Law," an exhibit in which the county reached "for any way to keep a religious document on the walls of courthouses."  http://www.oyez.org/cases/2000-2009/2004/2004_03_1693#argument

The Tax Payers are not "money trees."

If the Ten Commandments, The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are an issue which demands immediate attention for a display, then I would suggest that public funds not be expended for any of the display. A non-profit organization should be founded and they raise the money for the displays. The county commissioners may decide where the historical documents may be displayed.

Corporate Censorship by News Media

An excellent reference on corporate censorship. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_censorship  Political censorship by news media is a fact. I have personally seen it and experienced this continuation of the corporate Culture War.

Censorship has been witnessed locally at Scottsboro's Daily Sentinel when writting on issues involving Scottsboro's City Personnel System ratings for city employees and the City's Mayor's Office historical responsibility for failing to improve the system.

Then, there are the so called public forums managed by Advance Digital, such as Al.Com's Scottsboro forum, where political corporate censors have successfully removed any and all political speech which does not support the current powers that be. 2 agent provocateurs utilized over 50 names for 7 years, and they are still there.  Al.Com's news media outlet's forums have been utilized to to convey personal threats, terrorist threats and defamation. Police reports were filed concerning terrorist threats and harassing communications. Local law enforcement and the DA's office failed to investigate. Video - 7 years of threats and defamation. http://youtu.be/ekILKBZwFHA

This type of political censorship by corporate news media is very bothersome; considering their responsibility to keep the citizenry informed.

Censorship by news media of political topics is indicative of the values of corporate fascism - the rise of the political corporatocracy. Welcome to the neu CSA, Corporate States of Amerika. On the national level, corporate news media censorship is widespread.  Project Censored news http://www.projectcensored.org/category/validated-independent-news/

Censorship via Defamation and Creation of a Threat Environment - Al.com and Advance Digital Support Extremist "Agent Provocateurs"

Advance Digital, via its outlet al.com, supports political extremist "Agent Provocateurs" and internet censorship.  Al.com has a long history of censorship and creation of hostile, threatening environments on its forums. Purpose is to discredit citizen journalistic endeavors and support of specific political party and corporate goals. Individual expression concerning political corruption and bad management of  local government is not tolerated, and when a citizen writes about the censorship and dysfunctional culture, this is what happens as depicted in the video below - threats, intimidation, slander.

The evidence, seven years of defamation.

Al.com has banned me from the Scottsboro forum, canceled my account. Below is my letter to Advance Digital Community Managers. Political extremists, "Agent Provocateurs," who waged a defamation campaign pointed at me for 7 years by name, that included terrorist threats and threats of murder on al.com's Scottsboro Forum. Al.com and Advanced Digital have supported their actions and appear to have actively participated in the defamation via allowing posters or their media staff to have multiple names to defame and threaten.

This is the second "Cease & Desist Letter" to al.com. There have been numerous requests for al.com to stop defamation and threats on their forums.

May 23, 2014
NOTICE TO CEASE AND DESIST - INTERNET DEFAMATION.
Dear Community Manager,

Reference the Scottsboro Forum - Since your staff disabled the inappropriate posting feature it was impossible to remove offensive postings, I had no other choice but to defend myself, which I have a right to do.
Censorship by defamation and corporate action is supported by Advance Digital - your actions demonstrate that to have occurred. Your failure to control your forum by allowing extremists to make terrorist threats and continue a threat atmosphere is also evident by your failing to follow your own rules.

Self defense from false statements - The offending posters bragged continuously about how they could now post anything they wanted, which they did - including false postings about me by name.  I have a right to defend myself from false statements made about me.

Since my posting is no longer possible, I have no way to defend myself on your forums. I'm demanding that you Cease and Desist from allowing forum  postings utilizing my name in derogatory, slanderous terms, forms or fashions on your forums.

In addition, since I may no longer post on your forums due to your actions, I request that you remove all postings utilizing my name on your forums since the users contract regarding my postings is no longer valid.

It is my observations that the defamation and personal attacks against me, utilizing your forums, were from extremist political groups supporting racism, censorship and the control of all communications outlets, such as your forums. Further, your action has supported the actions of those who have made terrorist threats and continue defamation.

The same posters reentered the forum for seven years, utilizing over 50 forum names for the purpose of terrorist threats, threats of murder, racist statements, defamation and personal attacks. That would seem to support an inside job at al.com or the offending poster has resources certainly greater than an average citizen.

The sole purpose of the attacks for seven years was that of control of the forum. All I ever asked for is responsible discussion of issues. You as managers of al.com's Scottsboro Forum have not allowed that to happen. By allowing threats, defamation and harassment al.com has worked against responsible discussion. You have permitted censorship of political discussion by encouraging continuous defamation and a threat environment on your Scottsboro Forum.

Because of my complaints to you, you cancelled my account. By your action we no longer have a contract. I ask that you remove all postings utilizing my name.

Al.com forums will be monitored for the purpose of inspection to insure my name is not being utilized in any form or fashion on your web based forums. You allowed defamation by name for 7 years by the same people which you allowed to enter and reenter the forum and defame me. Because of the frequency of attacks, and the ease in which the threatening parties changed forum names, but kept up the same threatening and defamatory attacks, it appears they may be employees of al.com or Advance Internet. After numerous attempts to resolve this problem with you, the defamation and harassment continues and is followed up with a broad censoring action on your part.

Cease and Desist from allowing slander/defamation utilizing my name and the use of my name on your forums.

Regards,
GARRY L MORGAN

"How Covert Agents Infiltrate the Internet to Manipulate, Deceive, and Destroy Reputations"
"...two tactics: (1) to inject all sorts of false material onto the internet in order to destroy the reputation of its targets; and (2) to use social sciences and other techniques to manipulate online discourse and activism to generate outcomes it considers desirable.
Both tactics have been seen on al.com's Scottsboro Forum.

Citizen Journalism - Seven Years of Defamation & Threats

Scottsboro, Alabama - May 8, 2014 Citizen Journalism - Seven Years of Defamation & Threats - (Warning - Some of the language used in the video's defamation examples are not suitable for children.) Personal attacks in the form of defamation and threats pointed toward a citizen journalist with the intent to harm and discredit.

After numerous requests to Al.Com and Advance Internet to Cease and Desist, it serves to no avail.
The local newspaper in 2011, The Daily Sentinel, also participated in untruthful accusations, defamation pointed specifically at me by name.

October 2013, I was contracted to write for the Daily Sentinel. I produced a weekly column until I spoke about problems with Scottsboro's Personnel Management System and our current Mayors responsibility. Without notice or explanation my weekly columns were stopped by the Daily Sentinel's publisher claiming I had questioned the Mayor's integrity. Such is the story of local news reporting and supporting of politicians instead of the citizenry and accountable government practices.

Censorship Causes Blindness to reality - courtesy of "Al.com" and Advanced Internet

Internet censorship concerning political issues - a serious problem for al.com forum editors,  has once again grown out of control on the Al.com Scottsboro Forum ( http://www.al.com/forums/scottsboro/index.ssf?initial=true ). All postings on the Al.com Scottsboro Forum relating to Scottsboro and political issues have been removed - except todays questioning, what has happened to Scootsboro issues? Any discussion about Scottsboro was removed,  remaining - a majority of postings bashing President Obama.

This used to be a problem a few years back. It was the reason this blog was formed in 2007.  Currently the "Al.com" Scottsboro forum has an infestation of racist, right wing extremist posters. I have removed the forum link from this blog's forum listings in the right hand column. "Al.com" has always been susceptible to political censorship. Currently there is an attempt to control the forum by the right wing extremists of the Republican Party. Previous control attempts were made by the Democrat Party extremists. Seems neither can stand the truth and "Al.com" forum editors allow themselves to be controlled like political puppets.

It becomes obvious the management of Al.com cares naught about responsible speech, or editorial standards on a so called "open forum." Al.com's actions support political censorship and right-wing extremism. When I complained about threats, racist comments, cursed out and slandered on the forum, the forum editorial management removed the offending postings, but also removed all my postings while allowing the offenders postings, mostly bashing our current President, to remain. Velcum to zee neu Republikan socialist repression.

Previous articles on this blog about al.com political censorship:

CAN POLITICAL CENSORSHIP BE PURCHASED?

Al.com's parent organization is Advance Internet,  part of Advance Publications. The largest privately owned media organization in the U.S., supporting forum censorship. It is their forum to do as they may, just as it is my right to complain about their lack of sensible editorial practices which have resulted in political censorship.

In past instances of political censorship on Al.com's Scottsboro forum has revolved around political issues of local government entities. Sources tell me this time it involves the county commission race.  Wonder who that would be, wonder who has enough money for such tactics?

Elect no incumbent on the county commission - don't forget this county commission's failed leadership and the story of Little Napoleon.  http://arklite.blogspot.com/search/label/Little%20Napoleon

Censorship and Local Political Corruption

I used to post on al.com's Scottsboro "Forum," I no longer participate on the al.com "forum." (The so called "forums" are actually highly edited message boards.) I do monitor the "forums" closely because of stories such as this. Unfortunately the al.com "forums" have become a bastion of censorship which appears to involve Scottsboro City Officials and/or representatives of political figureheads within the area. There was and is an ongoing political battle for the control of the Scottsboro "forum." The al.com "forums" are a real time communications tool with citizens of several communities. To prevent political comments or the disclosure of corruption on specific "forums," censorship and draconian media practices occur, apparently originating from government officials or "media managers" in cooperation with the al.com editors. When media and government become intertwined and cooperate in censorship of political speech our system of Constitutional government is diminished and trampled.

Allegations have been made concerning a high level government official within Scottsboro. I was notified by a citizen of the community that posts were going to be made on the forum concerning the involvement of a city official with one of their subordinates. I recorded 10 posts which were made alleging sexual harassment and ethics violations by an elected city official. All 10 posts were removed within 1 hour of posting. This occurred on Friday March 12, 2010.

It would not be the first time city officials caused the removal of postings on the al.com Scottsboro message board. This practice occurred when sexual harassment allegations were made concerning past management officials at Goosepond Colony several years ago. Those allegations were proven true and the individual involved was removed from their position.

I have been approached by other citizens within our community relating the story to me concerning involvement of a public official in an amorous affair with a subordinate. Either this allegation is true or city officials have made some serious enemies, either way a problem exists.

Whether the allegation of sexual harassment and ethics violations by a city official holds water, the question must be asked how do postings relating to this matter become removed from the Scottsboro al.com message board within 1 hour of the postings being made? Why are these allegations being made at this time?

Are Scottsboro City Officials, other government officials or "media managers" involved in media censorship? What is occurring in the City of Scottsboro relating to the censorship of political speech and the removal of speech involving political issues is nothing short of FASCISM.

A SAD STATE OF MEDIA AFFAIRS. Media giant supports fascist ideology.

Once more draconian media editors of Advance Internets "al.com's" Scottsboro Forum removes my posts and forum account. Below you will find the latest example of draconian editing. This is an exact copy of the post that resulted in my ban. This post was listed after attacks on posters supporting our Democrat President and the idea of Classical Liberalism. Criminal threats by the extremist have also been made. I have been banned from posting while extremist posters making threats remain, it would seem the extremists are encouraged to express ideology supporting hate speech and racism.
**
Update- Feb 16, 2010: It appears some of the extremist posters are the moderator/editors of the site as evidenced by this posters comment. "7078... 2/16/10 0:48 ET... hey zz you can come out and play now. by joepepitone" You should know as the site editor, since my forum name has been reinstated immediately prior to your comment. No thank you, I do not wish to put up with the harassment from the draconian editors on your message board.
**
This explains why reasonable comments are removed and ridiculous threatening comments from your several names and constantly changing names remain. Is Mr. Weinberger aware of your shenanigans?

"I have noticed some people revel in the removal of the truth and foster lies. I wonder why that would be?"

"In studying history the tool of the tyrannical fascist has been the squashing of liberty and the basic right of responsible, truthful expression of political opposing speech, whether it be in media or public."

"Individuals or groups do not have to agree with the idea conveyed in the speech, but to attack the ideology of the First Amendment while practicing deceit, fostering fascist propaganda and quashing responsible speech does not speak well for the future of our society."(end of post)
>>
Within "al.com's" Scottsboro Forum extremist verbal threats have been made on the President of the U.S., there have been threats to burn a church, there have been personal threats made to me.
>
I have opposed right wing extremist attacks and racist expression. The extremists in turn only make more threats. Then, al.com's editors remove my speech and ban me for attempting to oppose the extremism expressed, while allowing and thus encouraging extremist, threatening speech to continue.
>
It is my belief that this failure of responsible editorial practice is carried forth for the express purpose of placing forward extremist right wing ideology in opposition to a Democrat, African American, Liberal President.
>
The draconian editorial action by this media organization supports right wing extremism and at times racism. This on the back of revelations that the Huntsville Times intends on closing the local Jackson County Bureau Office. The Huntsville Times parent organization is Advance Publications, the parent organization of "al.com"/Advance Internet. By closing the Times Bureau office in Jackson County, news from the Huntsville Times in Jackson County is removed from the "national media stream." Jackson County has historically been an Alabama Democrat Party bastion for many years.
>
Right wing extremist ideology has been expressed in the State Sovereignty Resolution, SJR 27, passed by the full legislature. This resolution supports the abolition of Federal Law such as the Civil Rights Act while supporting the notion that the state has the right to secede from the United States. This extremist right wing ideology is insane and supportive of fascism. Link on my article about SJR 27: http://arklite.blogspot.com/2010/01/sovereignty-resolutionsecession-or.html
>
One of the reasons I began this blog more than 2 years ago was to oppose (due to responsible political speech censorship) the extremist, draconian editorial practices of the media giant, Advance Publications/Advance Internet, the largest privately held media organization in the United States. It has a long history of draconian editorial practices wherever its forums exist.
>
It is their publication, they may do with it as they will, to include the removal of responsible speech. Due to their practice it should not be surprising to them when individuals and groups protest their irresponsible editorial policy. Perhaps they should consider the words of the former Editor-in Chief of CBS News, Tony Burman, "Every news organization has only its credibility and reputation to rely on." It appears al.com's forums editorial staff have peculiar extremist editorial ethics.
>
You, the reader may wonder, why do I care, why waste time? Advance Internet's "al.com," Scottsboro forum is a communications tool for the average citizen. Its existence allows for real time communication outside of the standard one way media communications. To control this forum controls the ability of citizens expression to the community as a whole. To control the forum exclusively for the purpose of fostering the extremist right wing ideology of the Republican Party's fringe element is in support of fascism and not the American Republic. The local forum's editorial support of extremism and fascist ideology reflects on the management of Advance Publications and its subordinate media enterprises which include The Huntsville Times, The Birmingham News and the Mobile Press Register among other publications and internet forums and news outlets nationally.

MEDIA CENSORSHIP OF POLITICAL SPEECH CONTINUES. Al.com supports right wing extremist speech, quashes liberal political speech.

The editors of al.com demonstrate political and racial bias on their forums. They have allowed racial hate speech to remain while removing speech which challenges the right wing extremism of the Republican Party, individuals and groups such as the Council on Conservative Citizens..

The below post was overbearing for the al.com Scottsboro forum editorial staff. http://arklite.blogspot.com/2010/02/political-strategy-media-and-propaganda.html Most of the mentioned post was posted on al.com's Scottsboro forum. The editorial nazis found it necessary to censor, remove all forum postings by zz99aa. All the postings removed were related to equal opportunity, ending of institutional and personal racism, nuclear power risks and non-support of nuclear power. Also removed were facts gathered regarding individuals within the forum which have threatned people and have rendered terrorist threats condoned by the forums management. Removed were the connections between right wing extremist groups, the Republican Party and the forums editorial process. Removed are plans to close the Huntsville Times Northeast Alabama office, excessive liberal news is more than the rightwingers can stand??
This is not the first time that editorial personnel from Advance Internet's "al.com" Scottsboro forum have censored speech and banned forum names from the Scottsboro forum based on political speech. http://www.al.com/forums/scottsboro/index.ssf The fascist and right wing extremists can't stand the truth.

Democrat Party, Censorship and Other Despicable Acts

The Democrat Party of Jackson County, like this picture of "Ole Boss Tweed," beating the poor, education and supporting ignorance and corruption. What rights will be "beaten" by the powerful Democrat Party? The party also has undue influence over local media, "al.com" Scottsboro forum,"al.com" is a publication of Advance Internet, part of the Advance Publications family of which the Huntsville Times and the Birmingham News is part of the family. Censorship occurs within the media giants discussion forums on behalf of the Democrat Party over the Courthouse Security Issue.
Political repression and no security takes place in this building. The site of the local repressive Bourbon and White Rooster Democrat Party whose Jim Crow political philosophy brought you the Scottsboro Boys, participation in political censorship and the philosophy that ignorance triumphs over education and good sense.

Local media tyrants participate with the Democrat Party thugs of repression to censor political speech on local talk and discussion forums, al.com, Scottsboro Discussion Forum. Post #6439, linking the poll on this site concerning Courthouse Security was removed yesterday after remaining there for 2 days.

The symbol, Democrat Party's Jack Ass on a ball, of political repression growing in our county, state and nation. The local Democrat Party participates in censorship of political speech I wonder how long it will be before they attempt to take personal firearms like the National Democrat Party is attempting.
>
What are the extremists of the Democrat Party up to these days. HR45: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/show Mandatory 5 year Licensing to own firearms.
HR2401: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h2401/show This bill would further specify the scope of the Second Amendment by prohibiting individuals who are prevented from boarding an aircraft because they have been put on the TSA's no-fly list from selling, transferring, or possessing firearms or ammunition. While this may seem like an innocuous bill to some, the so-called "No Fly" list is a highly inaccurate collection of names of suspected terrorists and completely innocent citizens. Even Sen. Ted Kennedy was placed on the no fly list due to error.
>
An all out attack on gun ownership began several years ago. It has only become possible at this time to support the Marxist leanings of the social revolutionaries due to our current elected leadership. It is obvious that those who favor the Socialist Democracy over the Republic have no respect for the Bill of Rights and the meaning of gun ownership in our nation. By all appearances there are those who will attempt to disarm Americans thru the color of law.
>
Marxist love the Democracy, in Communist philosophy the Democracy is a prelude to the socialist state and eventually Communism. Karl Marx's quote on the issue, " Democracy is the road to socialism." Pay close attention to those who give the message of Democracy building, it is Democrats as well as Republicans. Building a Democracy has never worked, it is a lie and it is a prelude to a socialist state and control by a few called the Central Committee, part of the Communist doctrine. How many czars does Pres. Obama have at this time? http://www.examiner.com/x-12465-Washington-County-Independent-Examiner~y2009m6d12-Whats-with-all-these-Czars Seventeen, 17, the Central Committee model grows.
>
What else has President Obama been up to? Like some of our local Democrat crooks he doesn't like investigators prying into his crony's rackets. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090612/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_national_service_inspector_general
Moral to the story, politics takes precedent over law. Pres. Obama just another crooked Democrat supporting corruption?
>
Making matters worse, just the discussion of these issues results in folks being called a conspiracy theorist, crazy and a threat. Wake up folks and realize what is happening. It ain't a conspiracy, it is the destruction of our nation and individual rights as outlined in the Constitution all for a political party.
>
Unfortunately many national media corporations participate in the democratization of our nation by supporting ignorance. Many worthwhile news items are passed by or given little or no emphasis. Instead of reporting the news, many in the media supports the party line and publishes propaganda concerning political positions of the party line. It is news mixed with political propaganda, it is the way of the socialist Democratic state striving to support a majority position. An attempt to grab a majority thru propaganda, such is news in a Democracy.
>
Locally, the despicable conduct of the Democrat Party of Jackson County and its influence over local media rises to the surface. Posts linked on the al.com Scottsboro forum, http://www.al.com/forums/scottsboro/index.ssf?initial=true to this site, post #6439 Courthouse Security Poll were removed after remaining on the forum for 2 days. The poster zz99aa also appears to have received a temporary ban as if to say, "we will show you." It is impossible to have any type of open political discussion on al.com's forums due to intentional political censorship of topics. This has been a ongoing issue with Advance Publications, owner of the Huntsville Times, Birmingham News and "al.com." Allowing a political party and government officials to influence their content to the point of censorship of political topics demonstrates the tyrany of Alabama politics and unethical editorial practices of the previous mentioned media outlets.

Local Maskarovka in Scottsboro, Aquatic Nuisance Weeds and Bellefonte

Hydrilla. My disagreement with the City of Scottsboro approving $42,500 appropriation and subsequent discussion about this problem has resulted in me being banned once again from al.com, Scottsboro forum.
Can't have any disagreement with the TVA in Scottsboro concerning their lies about Bellefonte and their lack of responsibility concerning lake stewardship. As soon as today's Daily Sentinel was released I was banned from the al.com forum. There is a front page article today about the aquatic nuisance weed problem and the TVA's lack of responsibility in lake stewardship concerning my presentation to the Scottsboro City Council Monday evening. http://thedailysentinel.com/story.lasso?ewcd=0e0970d3f12b918d

Censorship continues on Advance Internets al.com Scottsboro forum.
>
There has been much discussion concerning the Roseberry Creek and Dry Creek Aquatic nuisance species problem in Dry Creek & Roseberry Creek concerning the disbursement of $42,500 of taxpayer money to the Roseberry Rescue Group, a group of private citizen lakeside homeowners, from the Scottsboro City Council. I have presented an opposing viewpoint of this situation to the City Council last night, along with forum discussions of this issue on al.com, Scottsboro forum. My postings on al.com were removed.
>>
The following post thread is taken from al.com, Scottsboro forum. It is an example of the Maskarovka. Al.com moderators have participated in a distortion of the post threads by removing specific ad hominem abusive attacks, while leaving other ad hominem abusive posts. This distorts the post threads as the reply will remain resulting in a non-sensible reply. This is a new tactic not seen previously on al.com, Scottsboro forum. Previously a whole series of posts in a string would be removed.
>>>
Other postings on al.com removed concerned Bellefonte and aquatic nuisance weeds.

Post Title: gary by sboro3 4/7/09 10:02 ET
Why do you complain about people attacking you when that is the first thing you resort to when someone askes a question that you cant answer. There are several examples below. I will list a few...1) you pointed out a case that Mr. Harrelson presided over, which has nothing to do with this issue because someone else said he was a good man. That is an attack.2)you post a link to a video calling me an idiot3) you call anyone that doesnt agree with you a bourban democrat
Are you capable of having an debate without the attacks? I have asked you numerous questions that you wont answer. these are still listed if you care to answer.1)why wont you run for public office?2)what would you advertise about Scottsboro if the weeds make it so that the lake cant be used? The only answer i recieved was you calling me an idiot

The forum thread strings have been tampered with. Several posts have been removed which distorts the pattern of attacks from you and others.
>
The local forum moderators and you have participated in this charade. The distortion has been occurring since day one. It used to be when I would challenge a topic or political entity I would be removed from the forum, now the distortion and censorship takes on a different form which you are a participant.
>
You and others go ahead and wallow in your political deception as this is the state of Scottsboro and Jackson County Politics at the hands of the media pawns of some local politicians who distort the truth to local citizens in order to remain in office and maintain political control thru deception.
>
Your questions have been answered if I wanted to answer them. Your demanding, patronizing comments along with your previous attacks, since removed, are indicative of the worst of political charades that local politicians and their supporters undertake.
>
I have never stated that I don't utilize the ad hominem attack, I will utilize the ad hominem attack and point out how deception leads to distortion of truth.
The tactics which you and the moderators have intentionally participated this time around is the tactic of the Maskarovka, it is censorship and political distortion of the worst type utilizing a media product to accomplish your goal. http://arklite.blogspot.com/2009/03/maskarovka.html
>
The reason for the charade, distortion and propaganda, my difference of opinion concerning the Roseberry Creek issue and those influential individuals who have convinced the City Council to make a $42,500 appropriation to an influential private group of lakeside homeowners for the purpose of controlling aquatic weeds around their private property.
>
The lengths you and others will go thru to distort reality of the situation is very remarkable.
(end of discussion threads since deleted)
>>>
Update April 8, 2009:
The media censors and local politicians do their dirty deed once again. I have been banned once again for telling the truth on al.com, Scottsboro forum. Many postings removed discussing the Aquatic weed issue and the Bellefonte Nuclear Power Plant issue. More of the same deceit, more of the repressive actions of local political leadership coupled with local media serving as their messengers of deceit. All the while personal attacks continue.
>
It seems truth is more than lying scheming manipulative politicians and their media pawns can tolerate. However, others are allowed to issue forth personal attacks against me on the Scottsboro forum. Very telling, very revealing, very typical of local deceiving politicians and their media pawns.
>
The practice of the Maskarovka is alive and well in Scottsboro, Alabama. Another practice that is alive and well is bold face censorship practiced by some media outlets. Seems some media outlets will utilize censorship and deceit in support of their political choices and issues while eliminating disagreement and dissenting political speech.

More Dog and Pony Show Politics from the County Commission

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jackson County Courthouse<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

As I read our local paper, Scottsboro's Daily Sentinel, a glaring fact has stood out to me. Our local politicians seem to have their heads buried up their collective posteriors. Have they been eating loco weed, smoking dope or do they not have a clue?
>
Why you may ask this very negative commentary from me? Buy this mornings The Daily Sentinel, cost 50 cents, most can afford the 50 cents at this time, that soon may change. Read the article titled "Seeking To Improve," Government business leaders voice concerns in monthly meeting. Maybe it should read, "they Ain't got a clue." (Here is the Daily Sentinel's story: http://thedailysentinel.com/story.lasso?ewcd=ca343d0a4376f5be
>>
Not one of the business or governmental "so called" leaders were capable of identifying the #1 problem of not only Jackson County but our nation. A loss of our industrial manufacturing capabilities which equates to jobs. Apparently our elected leaders and so called business leaders fail to identify this problem. (Mr. Tom Lackey is not a business leader, he is a governmental employee of the Jackson County Health Care Authority.) There is a difference between government and business, however local socialistic influences tend to cloud that fact. The Chamber of Commerce executives are also not business leaders. A sizable portion of their income is provided by government.
>>>
This statement really takes the cake. "Bias said the county is missing out on grants, such as the $2.5 million grant from the Alabama Department of Transportation that Cullman received to build a vehicle park for horseback riding. ATV's and mountain biking. Jackson County has been looking into building a similar facility."
>>>>
How many people will this idea feed? How many permanent jobs will this $2.5 million dollars of state pork waste money provide in building a government "horse trail, bike trail?
>>>>>
It is no wonder that we are in such a dire financial fix in this nation, ideas that government built recreation areas will solve the rapidly growing unemployment in Jackson County is an example of reality denial. We need jobs, we need industry in our industrial parks, we do not need more waste and ridiculous spending ideas by alleged leaders who do not have a clue. Yet, the hundreds of thousands of dollars being poured into the Economic Development Authority accomplishes naught, except government jobs for the 3 or 4 employed at the EDA.
>>>>>>
Fewer jobs equates to less tax revenue, less government spending, a Socialists nightmare. The local Socialist Bourbon Democrats will have a meltdown with no money to spend on more government. Locally the unemployment rate is 7.4% and climbing ( That does not reflect the accurate rate of unemployment which is approximately 10+%, some of the unemployed are not reported.) due to more job layoffs and business closings. The county commissions priorities are stated as building a recreation facility. Maybe Mr. Clemmons would care to cover the costs and build this facility on his property instead of costing Jackson County citizens more taxes.
>>>>>>>
It should be obvious, tax and spend socialist politicians are right here at home. JOBS, JOBS and more JOBS is what we need locally and in our nation. Manufacturing industry brings jobs. Ideas to spend money thru more government sponsored recreation programs for the select few does not bring more jobs.
>>>>>>>>
(What about the bridges of Jackson County, some are falling apart?) It becomes obvious many local politicians are intent on increasing tax revenue thru Federally sponsored organizations such as the TVA and DOD thru BRAC, and any other scheme to benefit tax and spend politicians. Bringing jobs to town which would benefit the current local working man and woman does not appear on their list. Lots of lip service about how BRAC and the TVA will bring jobs to town is full of deceit. These plans will not furnish current residents with good paying jobs but will bring more residents, a sales tax revenue increase and property tax increase via resident Federal Employees and Contractors.
>>>>>>>>>
The job solution rests in private investments into alternative energy. Fill our industrial parks with alternative energy jobs, energy systems manufacturing jobs, renewable energy manufacturing jobs. http://arklite.blogspot.com/2008/04/alternative-energy.html There has been no effort involved in recruiting these industries. Industries of the future, the opportunity is now. Unfortunately our local industry recruiters seem to be resting their efforts on the possibility that a non-approved nuclear reactor will be built by the TVA who can't afford to build 1 reactor much less 4. The TVA at this period in time, in the Tennessee River Valley, is a large contributor to the growing socialist state and the Federal Debt.

Update, Jan. 26, 2009: Censorship continues on al.com. This post's link was removed from the site. Previously, last week, the poster was permanently banned but reinstated. Now he has been temporarily banned but the post removed. The local Socialist Bourbon Democrat Tyrants and their media pawns at work for you, censoring opposing political speech and destroying individual rights. Their motto: "Treat citizens like a mushroom. Keep them in the dark and feed them crap."

North Alabama Now Forum--A Highly Recommended Discussion Forum.

One of the reasons this blog was formed was due to the consistent, unreasonable censorship of responsible political speech on al.com. There is an established discussion forum which I gladly recommend to all, "North Alabama Now" http://northalabamanow.com/ There are several topic areas to include politics and local areas of interest. Stop by and check it out, I think you will find the moderation is much more reasonable and responsible than the current unreasonable censorship trends by the editorial staff of al.com.
>
The site is under going construction, the community forums are intact and working fine. You will find many former and current al.com posters within this discussion community.

Change in Scottsboro, or the Update: Freedom From the Repression of Truth by the Press

Wiki has a good bio of President Elect Obama. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama
"Scottsboro Boys" under the armed escort of the Alabama National Guard (1931). Link to the Scottsboro Boy's History: http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/FTrials/Scottsboro/SB_acct.html

>>>>>>>Dr. Speers during his campaign at a debate.

A phenomenal cultural Event has occured in our nation. The election of a Black Man as President of the United States. President Elect Barrack Obama's election is a milestone in Race Relations for our nation.
>>
Much may be said about Scottsboro's change concerning race relations in a positive fashion. Our city's advancement through the debilitating, destructive attitude of Jim Crow; from the Scottsboro Boys Case, the begining of the 2oth Century's Civil Rights movement, to our current historical moments of change. Not much has been said about our local community in this historical moment. President Elect Barrack Hussein Obama truly represents a change of our national culture, leaders such as Dr. Gary M. Speers, Educator and Scottsboro City Councilman represents a positive change for Scottsboro.
>>>
*Update, 6PM: This postings link was removed from al.com's Scottsboro Forum. Very obviously the local editors of al.com Scottsboro Forum, Advance Internet, support censorship. Now it appears their censorship goes much deeper, into the realm of racial bigotry and discrimination. There were other posts from this blog that had been linked over several days but not removed until this one was posted. When this posting was linked, it was removed and the poster has received a posting ban. The prejudicial and bigoted actions of Advance Internet's al.com's editors is reflective of an attitude of tyrany and now intolerance of African American History and Truth. What can be said about a media's empire whose values display that of bigotry and tyrany?? What is so disappointing, The Huntsville Times, The Birmingham News and the Mobile Press Register are part of that media empire. Freedom of the press or freedom from the press and their repression of the truth and responsible discussion of events?

Intellectual Property and Authoritarian Media Corporate Tyranny in Discussion Forums

For 1 year now this blog has been in place. The reason the blog was created was and is to inform the citizens of Scottsboro Alabama of a different political picture of the world around them and to demonstrate the extent of political censorship that is occurring at the hands of local formal media and politicians. It has became obvious to some and not so obvious to others that the media and some politicians do not want alternative ideas which do not agree with their individual political platform and plans. In the private media's so called discussion forums they will not allow discussion of alternative ideas of responsible opposing political speech and opposing view points to important issues before the community. I believe the removal of my speech and the "banning" of my accounts and that of others accounts on al.com had a purpose, that purpose was politically motivated so as not to allow the opposing side of an issue to be discussed.
>
When there is an attempt to discuss alternatives and present alternatives outside the small group of political party insiders by utilizing available media tools, access to the tools are removed, while allowing attacks against Democrat opposition and slanting reports favoring one position which the local Democrat Party supports or supportive of an individual politician. (In other parts of the state it is the rule of the Republican Party which is overbearing in political discussion. opposition is removed from al.com products where the Republican Party is the dominant party of choice.) The local commercial media is in fact no more and no less than a pawn of political factionalism, they practice propaganda as much as they attempt to report the news.
>>
The local discussion forum by al.com is a means to communicate on a real time basis with the community. Unfortunately not all managers of this forum know the meaning of responsible open speech. The managers of al.com are not supportive of the Constitutional ideals of our nation. Those same tyrannical managers of al.com also attempt to deny intellectual freedom to those who write. I used my name and was banned because of it, I used a "handle" for a name but disclosed my identity in the profile, I was banned for it. I discussed political issues, I did not agree with the status quo of local controversial political positions, I was banned for it.
>>>
In discussing important issues which involve the community's future it is important that all sides of an issue be presented. Unfortunately Advance Internet, al.com, Scottsboro forum it is impossible to utilize that forum to participate in meaningful political discussion of issues as the managers of that forum will not allow the truth to be told or any discussion of issues which do not agree with the local Democrat Party. Local Democrat Party thugs have been allowed to make threats, intimidate and lie about those who attempt to carry forth meaningful discussions on al.com's Scottsboro Forum. Al.com editors and Democrat Party tyrants have rendered the Scottsboro forum a propaganda tool of repressive politicians whose only purpose is to enrich themselves and maintain political party control at the expense of the local citizenry.
>>>>
For the above stated reasons I will no longer participate in Advance Internet's al.com. However, I will vigilantly defend any attacks made on me, my speech or my political ideas on any Advance Internet product

Internet Censorship, An Expanding Problem for Citizens of the United States

You will find various links concerning the censorship issue in the United States. Even in the quaint small city of Scottsboro Alabama is affected by the tyranny of political officials and editorial staff who act on governmental officials request. Apathy and a feeling of non-control has resulted in the infringement on the rights of expression in our city, county, state and nation.

>>
Censorship in the U.S. for the past 30 years:http://www.projectcensored.org/top-stories/publications/
>>>
Alex Carey wrote about censorship in, "Taking the Risk Out of Democracy:" "The twentieth century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: the growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power against democracy." Journalist Walter Lippmann called it the "manufacture of consent" in a democratic society where it can't be done by force, and Noam Chomsky and Edward Herman titled their landmark 1988 book "Manufacturing Consent" to describe the dominant media's "propaganda model" to program the public mind.It "filter(s) out the news to print, marginalize(s) dissent, (and assures) government and dominant private interests" control all information dissemination. It's done through a set of "filters" to remove what's unacceptable and "leav(es) only the cleansed residue fit to print" or broadcast. It raises the dilemma James Madison posed that "A popular government, without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy; or perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives." Today it's from the media, and therein lies the problem.
>>>
Mr. Carey had this to say about a ""propaganda-managed democracy"....to identify the free-enterprise system in popular consciousness with every cherished value, and to identify interventionist governments and strong unions with tyranny, oppression and even subversion." Carey called propaganda "communications where the form and content is selected with the single-minded purpose of bringing some target audience (the public or a company's employees, etc.) to adopt attitudes and beliefs chosen in advance by the sponsors." It's as important in democratic societies as in authoritarian ones. In addition, "the success of business (or government) propaganda persuading us that we are free from (this type influence) is one of the most significant propaganda achievements of the twentieth century."
>>>>
Governmental and corporate censorship in Scottsboro, Alabama is real, tyrants practice it frequently. The question is, do you the citizen care enough not to buy a product or participate in any organization who practices censorship such as Advance Publications through its subsidiary company al.com. Advance Publications owns several Alabama media operations, The Huntsville Times, The Birmingham News and The Mobile Press Register are 3 of Advance Publication's Alabama newspapers. Other Advance ownership companies and info: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Advance_Publications
